Eccles Ecd Lab School (Slcc Child Dev. Ctr.)

The Eccles Lab School at Salt Lake Community College is hands-down one of the best early childhood programs I’ve seen. Their outdoor learning space is incredible—honestly one of the best in the country. You can tell how much thought and care goes into every part of the environment. The program’s foundation in developmentally appropriate practice and its NAEYC accreditation reflect a deep commitment to high-quality early education. The current director, teachers and staff are amazing—warm, welcoming, and deeply respectful of both families and student teachers. There’s a real sense of community and inclusion, with a strong commitment to cultural diversity and meeting each child where they are. The classrooms are always clean, calm, and beautifully set up, and the student assistants are kind, capable, and engaged. This program is a true gem and a standout part of SLCC’s School of Family & Human Studies

We have had our daughter going here for almost 2 years now and have had nothing but good experiences so far. She has loved her teachers and is usually excited to go each day. They provide in depth reports of your child’s development for their age, which we find helpful as parents. The meals they provide are healthy and she seems to like them. They teach them a lot of skills and keep us updated on what they are working on so we can do the same things at home. Overall I would definitely recommend them as they are reasonably priced for what we have seen to be excellent value.

I brought my daughter and now my son here. This school has been nothing but absolutely amazing to my family. The teachers are so wonderful and have had nothing but love and understanding from the staff. I highly recommend this place.

Overall the childcare is good with your children and will to try and work with you. The teachers are great. Though when it comes to the management of this place. They are difficult to work with at times. They won't return your calls or explain things clearly. We were out of the country and they wouldn't give us specifics on what steps to take or when we could return our child. They also will not refund you at all for any reasons if you cannot take your child here for any reason. I am giving 2 stars since they wouldn't return calls to us on important topics. Overall it was difficult not rating higher since the teachers are wonderful here and really care. Updated; Lowering this to 1 star. We discussed with our daughters continued status there. They never call you back. They never take accountability for their actions. We talked with Caliene multiple times and she was never helpful or got anyone involved to solve our issues. Instead they never convey our concerns and instead make things more difficult.

My child went for 8 semesters years ago and had a very good experience.
