What a wonderful experience. Earned my Associates degree here. If you pick your teachers and meet with them before taking thier class, you can earn a University education with top notch teachers who do teach in Universities also.
My experience here as a nursing student was horrible to say the least, as an adult learner (my perspective as an adult with adult children) some of the staff/professors within the nursing dept were professional but majority were disrespectful with a “mean girl” attitude. A culture of isolated bullying and discrimination towards certain student groups were and probably still are the norm. I will never forget the way I was treated unfairly and the things that were said to me by some of the “professionals” in this dept. A complete disgrace to the nursing profession. It’s sad they operate with an outdated mindset and cultural view. In this century nurses no longer eat their young and the nursing field is full of diversity now with an increase in Hispanic nurses. That is a hard pill for some to swallow.
Was charged over $1000 for classes I tried to unenroll from several times WEEKS before the deadline. My counselor took every opportunity to slow down the process as much as possible and was extremely difficult to work with and generally had a bad attitude. He made it clear that any unenrollments need to be made through him, yet my multitude of emails stating that I had no intentions of attending another semester and demanding that I be unenrolled either went unanswered or were met with half-assed responses several days and sometimes even weeks later. Despite several documented instances of me attempting to unenroll before the deadline the school doubled down and passed off the $1000 to a debt collection agency.
Attempting to get any help answering questions over the phone or via chat is virtually pointless and a waste of your time and energy. Everything needs to be answered by someone else, and you have to wait 1-2 business days for a reply. It did not used to be this way. Its sad and scary the lack of help you can get these days....it almost makes you not want to attend school at all. I'd hate to have been an absolutely new student to college after these past few experiences.
I left this college during my first semester. No help, and the approach they use is do it our way or get out. Awful in my personal experience.
