I had a really disappointing experience with McHenry Community College. I signed up for the Focus on the Kids class, but I got sick and had to cancel. Life got extremely busy the following month, so I wasn’t able to reschedule right away. When I finally called to do so, the woman who answered the phone was shockingly rude and unprofessional. Instead of being helpful or understanding, she made inappropriate and judgmental comments, including saying things like “this is not important to you.” That is not her place to say, and it was honestly insulting. People have lives, kids, jobs, and unexpected situations — especially illness. I expected basic courtesy and professionalism from an educational institution, and instead I was talked down to and made to feel dismissed. If this is how MCC treats people who are simply trying to reschedule a required class, that says a lot. Very poor customer service and zero empathy.

I recently visited McHenry County College on a tour and was impressed by the organization and variety of professions that can be pursued there. I was particularly pleased with how friendly and attentive the staff was. This was evident as soon as I entered the building, and the employees were ready to assist me with any questions I had. They assured me that I could count on their support and assistance in the future. Overall, I think that McHenry County College is an excellent place for those seeking quality education in various professional fields. I recommend this college to anyone who wants to receive a high-quality education and learn new skills. Thank you for the wonderful tour!

A great college for both general ed courses for transfer, and associates degree or high skill trades training. Facilities are outstanding and the new university center allows you to continue on and get your Bachelors or Masters. The professors for the most part have been excellent and seem to really care about their students success.

I’m disappointed by my recent interactions involving McHenry County College. An individual affiliated with the college has made unprofessional and inaccurate public comments about my business and employees. This behavior reflects poorly on the institution and contradicts the standards of professionalism that colleges should uphold. I hope the administration takes steps to address this matter and ensure their representatives act responsibly in public forums.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding the service I recently received at the English as a Second Language department. The person who assisted me, named Marcela, was rude and unprofessional, which made me feel discriminated against. I believe that this type of behavior does not reflect the respect and empathy that should characterize the service of this department.
