Master Academy

We have so much fun and enjoy learning from Mr. Rodrigo and Grand Master Clark. My children have learned so much in such a short amount of time, it’s incredible to see!

I wrote my first "5 star" review 5 years ago after my daughter had just started their program. So I wanted to write one more after being in their martial arts program for 5 years and my daughter earning her 2nd Poom rank as the Black Belt. What I have learned in the past 5 years is that Master Academy is much more than just the best martial arts program in the area - they have been like our family and my daughter's second home since day one. They are a unique kind of childcare center where kids spend their time engaging in healthy physical activity every day in the Dojang while learning new skills, such as leadership and responsibility, after completing all of their homework. Grand Master Anthony Clark has been the best Taekwondo coach my daughter could ever ask for. It has been a pleasure to watch him train my daughter year after year and always have his support at all of her tournaments and competitions. My daughter has made so many beautiful memories with her coaches and friends here that will stay in her heart for life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AS THE BEST MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM IN TAMPA BAY!

Just started with Master academy, as they came HIGHLY recommended by some friends. If you are having behavioral issues at school or at home, take it from me, this is the missing price to your puzzle! Not only is Grand Master Anthony invested in helping your child be their best in all aspects of life, the team cares and shows up in many ways! We are grateful to Courtney and GM Anthony for the generosity and discipline and always welcoming and positivity! We finally found an after school program that our son will gain so many wonderful things from, including learning a new language and the ethics and morals that come with learning Taekwondo, new friends and another piece to our village! Highly recommend checking it out!

Master Academy is my daughters home away from home. Mrs. Lee is tough in regards to schooling and discipline, because she wants the children to exhale in academia. Master Anthony is like that family member who wants to know everything that is going on in your life and wants to be a part of it and truly cares. There’s also the after school staff are children at heart and the kids all love goofing around with them. On the days I have off from work, my daughter still requests that I pick her up later, so she can have more time at Master Academy. Summer camp, well don’t miss out, because they always have SO much fun in store for the children. I have to say, I was a little skeptical when I first walked into the center. It’s small and not set up with the latest or newest things, but my daughter begged to be enrolled for after school daycare. We gave it a shot and boy are we glad we did. We’ve been a part of the Master Academy family for 2 yrs now and have LOVED every moment of it. Joining Master Academy is not just joining an after school or sports program, it’s becoming a part of their ever growing family.

We found Master Academy more than a year ago, after checking out a more famous local place. Our son (then 6) did not like that place saying it was too big and crowded. It took me a while to convince him to try a second place, this one very close to our home. On the day we walked in, we were greeted by one of the older, black belt students, as well as the director, Ms. Lee. While Ms. Lee easily comforted and convinced my son to walk on to the mat, the black belt student was very caring, and spent about 20 minutes just showing moves to my son and engaging him. We were back the very next day to sign up for our first monthly lessons, and my son is now a purple belt who says this is his most favorite activity ever! He even quit swimming so he could come here more often. Ms. Lee is a fantastic director, providing loving discipline. If she is not within your sight, don't think that she is not seeing what is happening in the study room, the practice room, the lobby, or the parking lot! Master Anthony, the kids' idol, is by far the best teacher I have ever met in my life (I am a teacher myself). He is a smart, swift, fun, committed, and super passionate role model for the kids. I was touched when in 2nd grade our son wrote about him at school for his "Describe your hero" assignment. It is amazing to observe how the kids both adore and respect him. The relationship that he builds with each and every single student, regardless of age, is admirable. When I cannot get our son clean his room, do homework, a quick mention of Master Anthony and how he would have wanted things to be done will suffice! Every quarter or so, they will have a belt ceremony, awarding the students for their hard work, and encouraging them for even better. My son has received two trophies so far, which traveled with us overseas to be shown to every single family member! The staff members, Mr. Miles and Ms. Charis, both black belt, are supervisors for the after school care program. They are smart, caring, and patient people. In fact, other than family, they have been the only people with whom we have ever left our son. As a whole, this place feels like home. There is also a nice small lobby, where parents can sit and get work done while waiting (or watching) their children in class. Bringing our son here was one of the best things we have ever done for him! Thank you!
