Main Street Childrens Center

One of the parents who brings their child to MSCC asked me to look at the two reviews by Mr. Singh and Mr. Shirley. I did, and neither I nor any of my staff have ever met or given tours to these men. If either Mr. Singh or Mr. Shirley would like to explain why they have made these accusations, we can meet together along with the pastor and other managers to have a discussion.

I personally witnessed the director Ruthann pull a child by the arm and scream in their face. Then walk to her office and smile at me like nothing had happened. Not only is this unacceptable and unprofessional, but it raises very serious concerns about the safety and emotional well-being of the children in their care. I also saw her speak harshly to staff, which makes me wonder if it’s safe Christ filled environment. I don’t think I’d feel safe or comfortable leaving my child here.

I recently visited this childcare center with a family member and unfortunately had a very concerning experience. When we rang the doorbell, we waited outside for nearly 20 minutes before anyone came to the door. When someone finally let us in, we were told that management was not available. This was troubling, as it raised questions about why management would not be present or accessible during operating hours. While waiting, I also heard children crying and screaming, along with what sounded like an older staff member raising their voice at a child. This was very unsettling to hear—especially for a program based in a church, where one would expect a nurturing and Christ-like environment. Overall, the center gave an unprofessional impression, with a clear lack of communication between staff and management. Based on what I observed and heard, I would be very cautious about leaving a child in their care.

Three of my grandchildren have been cared for at Main Street Children's Center. I can't say enough great things about the people, the program and the love given there.
