Little Sprouts At Melrose

I don’t understand why my comment was deleted. The management at this institution is extremely disorganized, and teachers are frequently changed. My child was injured in the classroom — he tripped over a small cot that was left on the floor while holding a hard toy. It’s important to note that when cots are placed on the floor, all hard toys should be put away. Children are not supposed to have access to hard toys at that time. As a result, my son had to get two stitches on the bridge of his nose, directly between his eyes. I can’t imagine if a little move to his eyes. I received an email from the administrator, Rena, that day. She told me it wasn’t serious and that I could either wait until dismissal to pick him up or come right away to take him to the doctor. When I asked to review the classroom surveillance footage, I was told there was none. After that, I lost trust in the school and requested to withdraw my child, but Rena actually had the nerve to ask me to pay an extra month’s tuition. It’s absolutely ridiculous! I deeply regret enrolling my child in this chain preschool. Other Little Sprouts locations might be good, but the one in Melrose is truly awful. After our child was injured, our family did not receive any written or verbal care. There was no communication or attempt to handle the situation. The management acted as if nothing had happened. While our child was resting at home due to the injury, we still continued to pay tuition fees as usual. To this day, the school has not answered my question at the time: why was a child still able to touch with hard and sharp-edged toys when the small bed was placed on the floor? He just 23 months boy. I didn’t get responded from the school until now. I believe that regardless of whether the school is legally responsible for the injury, this attitude of indifference, lack of communication, shirking responsibility, and evasion is unprofessional and untrustworthy. It’s hard to imagine that if your child were to be injured at this school in the future, they wouldn’t be treated as unfairly as mine was. A safe school is not one that simply claims to be safe—it requires responsibility and professional ethics. I sincerely hope you can learn from this experience, correct your shortcomings, and prevent future harm to other children.

We are so, so happy with LS Melrose. Rena and Sydney do a fantastic job with administration, hiring, and communications. They run a great school. Our son's teachers, Ms. Nehemie and Ms. Jean, are absolutely fantastic. They are rays of light in our life. Dropping our child off with them every day is easy, and they take such good care of him. They are so communicative and it's amazing how much detail they can remember about every baby's day. We LOVE them and so does our child!

We are very happy with Little Sprouts in Melrose! The teachers are warm, patient, and incredibly skilled at creating a nurturing and fun environment for children. My child loves going to school every day and has grown so much socially and academically since starting here. The curriculum is engaging, blending learning and play seamlessly. The staff also communicates well with parents, keeping us updated on progress and activities. We’re so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for our child to learn and grow!

We absolutely love Little Sprouts Melrose! Sam and Rena do a great job here. The communication is always detailed and consistent, the daily activities are so much fun and engaging. Sydney and Isabella from Toddler 3 classroom are really nice teachers. They take such good care of our daughter and our daughter loves both of them. She has adapted so well and loves to go to school everyday. We couldn't be happier with our decision to send our little one to this wonderful school.

We did not have a good experience at Little Sprouts. Our son previously attended Bright Horizons in Charlestown, MA and we thought Little Sprouts would be similar. The teachers were very kind and we could see that they enjoyed being with the children, but we found the activities were not really engaging our son, and he did not integrate well into the classroom. He went to school reluctantly each day (which is truly terrible to watch as a parent). He was recently potty trained, but doing very well, and we found he was regressing at Little Sprouts - he did not seem to feel very comfortable using the potty there. I also noticed that the school serves the same snack every day (always Goldfish). Maybe that is normal, but at Bright Horizons we had a very varied snack menu each month and the center made a big effort to ensure the snacks had fruit, vegetables, lots of color and lots of variety. At Little Sprouts were were also told many days that our son was pushing other children (which I'm sure was the case), but now that we have switched him to Mi Pequena Academia here in Melrose he is so happy and engaged that he has never again had this kind of behavior. I cannot say that our experience at Little Sprouts was bad, but it was not great - and for the price of tuition and what we want for our son - we are expecting great. We decided to switch our son out of Little Sprouts after 1 month because it was not a good fit, and it was very much the right decision.
