Bulger Park At first glance of Bulger Park when my children and I pulled up in the car, I was excited to see the dual bocce ball courts, I'm a huge fan, and play it any chance I get. The kids made a mad dash straight to the amazingly large playground located next to a clubhouse, I've learned they hold many events and gatherings there. There's a clean even pathway that encompasses the entire park where one can walk or stretch and take in some fresh air, or maybe even just have a cup of coffee under the gazebo located in the park. The open field itself is large enough to have fun and is a great place to fly a kite. One final feature is the baseball field, many games are hosted there each season, the bleachers are nice, and there's ample parking. Bulger Park is an excellent park for kids and family. Now that our family knows it's so close to home, we walk there each time we visit.
I’m really disappointed in the current condition of Bulger Park’s kids playground. The entire area is filthy and seems to be neglected. The seating area is covered in trash and clearly hasn’t been swept or cleaned in a while. It’s not just unsightly, it’s unsafe for children and families who come here expecting a clean, welcoming environment. The bathrooms are in unacceptable condition. They’re beyond dirty, and considering how many children use them regularly, it’s extremely concerning. On more than one occasion, I’ve also witnessed individuals using the restrooms to get high. It’s not only disturbing but also dangerous. Another major issue is the lack of security. I rarely see any security guards or park staff present, which makes the park feel even less safe. A place designed for kids should be monitored better to ensure safety and cleanliness. I took a few photos to show that I was there and witnessed this for myself. I really hope the park district or whoever is in charge takes these concerns seriously and addresses them soon. This park has the potential to be a great space for families but not until major improvements are made.
Nice place to take your kids. Big playground with free spray pad and large field with 2 small baseball fields. Picnic tables available.
Pretty good, overall please keep an eye and watch the middle schoolers that come and visit during the day, occasionally causes a disturbance on the track and field
It is a nice park. Looks clean and well maintained. Guy working there is constantly rolling around smoking cigarettes though. There are parents who roll up, let their kids out, and then sit in their car. Letting their kids run wild with no supervision which is very annoying. Kids using foul language and just being a nuisance with no supervision makes it difficult to take my young children here.
