What Parents Say

These reviews are for a fitness center, not a daycare. The facility offers extensive amenities including gym equipment, pickleball courts, saunas, and a kids academy, but members report declining quality and significant price increases that undermine the value proposition.

Hot tub by the pool is Horrible. jets don't work and it's lukewarm. Coed Sauna is extremely hot Clean establishment. Coming here for free for over a year now otherwise I wouldn't have a membership it's too pricy for a gym. Golds gym is 24.00 a month with a sauna pool hot tub some have smaller steam rooms too. Time to shut it down. Price is too high even if I can afford to pay it

DO NOT GO HERE. As many others have stated, this gym has gone way downhill. It is extremely run down, intensely overcrowded, and really a total letdown on all fronts. The craziest part is, there are multiple nice gyms in the area that are CHEAPER! And far less crowded! Gym equipment is never clean. There's very few weight machines considering they have so many members. Everything is taken. They do have plenty of treadmills if you're skipping weights. There's no adherence to the age policy, so you'll often see 8 year olds in crocs toying around with the weights. Locker room is never clean, and the towels are the kind of towels you'd find at the 99 cent store; very thin and need 2-3 towels to properly dry off. Indoor pool typically has band-aids floating in the pool and is grimey most days. The kiddie pool has so much chlorine it makes your skin burn. I would not recommend going here. It has gone way down hill. Many much better facilities in the area, and cheaper.

I usually leave Lifetime feeling mentally refreshed and uplifted. It’s one of the places that genuinely helps my mindset, and I’ve been a loyal member for over six years. Today, however, I left with a very uncomfortable feeling for the first time. I attended a Surrender Yoga class today. The class was not full—there were only about 7–8 people in the room. When I made my reservation, only around 10 people were registered. I reserved Spot #10 through the app, and there was no one in Spot 9 at the time. Many surrounding spots (6, 7, 8, 9, and even the back rows) were completely empty, so spacing was clearly not an issue. Before the class started, the instructor came directly to me and asked for my spot number. When I said 10, I was told to move strictly to Spot 10 and not stay between Spots 9 and 10. I explained that Spot 9 was empty and that the class was very small, but I was still asked to move. What made this especially uncomfortable was that I was the only person approached, while other participants were not placed exactly on their numbered spots and were not corrected. Being singled out like this in front of others felt embarrassing and unnecessary. I also want to be honest about how this felt to me personally. I was the only Asian woman in the room, and being the only person corrected made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. I don’t want to assume intent, but in that moment, it felt like I was being treated differently, and I even questioned whether I was being singled out. That feeling stayed with me long after the class ended. Surrender Yoga is meant to relax the body and bring mental calm and clarity. This interaction felt completely opposite to the purpose of the practice. Instead of leaving grounded and peaceful, I left feeling uneasy and unsettled. I have visited many Lifetime locations over the years and have never experienced anything like this before. Lifetime is usually a place where I feel welcomed and supported, which is why today’s experience was so disappointing. I truly hope there can be more consistency, awareness, and sensitivity in how policies are enforced, so all members feel equally respected.

The Reston facility has really gone downhill and caters more to casual pickle ballers than people who want an actual workout. It has become a glorified planet fitness and is no longer worth the price. I have better workout experiences at the local rec centers.

Absolutely love Lifetime Fitness in Fairfax and Reston! Great place to work out and meet people of all ages. I use the elliptical, treadmill, pickleball, and the hydro massage, and everything is always clean and well run. Pickleball is super social, and the hydro massage is perfect after a workout. It really feels like a community here, not just a gym.
