What Parents Say
This is not a daycare center but a gym facility (Life Time Fitness). Reviews praise the Novi location's friendly staff, cleanliness, swim coaching, and community atmosphere. Members note concerns about pricing, class quality, membership policies, and facility policies.
A great gym overall, however with the premium price I do not think guests should be getting kicked out of the sauna (something most gym goers do regularly AFTER working out) 30 minutes before the gym closes. I understand giving a 15 minute warning or even enforcing a 5 minutes pool deck close, but 30 minutes seems excessive, especially when there are other gyms that are open up much later ,and are much more affordable to go to with similar amenities. Hours are still not what they were pre covid and prices have increased it does not add up.
I remain a member primarily because of the childcare programs and because my background in fitness allows me to pick and choose what I do with confidence. The group classes need serious attention. Attendance is currently high due to New Year’s resolutions, but this will likely drop (interest and injury reasons). 1. Class quality Calling a class “Pilates” or “core” does not make it Pilates. Pilates is a structured system designed to build strong, functional cores. Traditional mat Pilates is far more effective than the current “fusion” formats and is designed to reduce—not create—injury risk. 2. Injury and form Many people taking these classes are beginners. Proper exercise selection and attention to form are critical at this level. The lack of consistent form correction and emphasis on safe movement is concerning. 3. Exercise selection Working small muscle groups to exhaustion can feel challenging, but it does not support long-term physical health. It increases injury risk and equals minimal fitness gains. 4. Scheduling More consistent scheduling would allow participants to attend similar classes two to three times per week, which would support safer progression and better outcomes. Staff and facilities The stars are for the staff—especially the administrative team—who are excellent. There are also some strong trainers, great pickleball instructors, and a few excellent yoga instructors (despite the large number of “rock-and-roll-style” flow classes). Childcare is a major benefit, and my child enjoys the rock climbing option.
It's a wonderful place with great facilities . With a great staff ,the complaint would be lifetime's membership concept is not a fair bussiness concept if you have a family membership and you put your son's membership on hold while they go away to school , when they get back and you reactactivate them again, their membership rate has increased . If you put your kids membership on hold even in the middle of the month, it's pro rated not till the 1st of the upcoming month, the 1st of the following month, which means your membership is still billed for an extra month for nothing that's a very very unfair concept , otherwise I would of gave this place 5 stars .
I’ve always enjoyed Lifetime’s amenities and have visited several locations, but this one clearly lacks leadership. The locker rooms are consistently a mess - towels, supplies, and trash scattered across floors and benches. Equipment feels overdue for maintenance, loose, and borderline unsafe. Nearly every employee I saw today was glued to their phone instead of tending to the club. For a gym with premium pricing, this location feels neglected. And please, we all know you close at 9 p.m. there’s no need to blast PA reminders every ten minutes starting at 7:30. It’s frustrating and ruins the experience. This place needs attention. Fast.
Colleen and Ben at the front desk are absolutely amazing!! They made my experience at this gym incredible by their kindness and professionalism! Great people and even better employees.
