Dear, Lifetime Garland I recently visited the Life Time Fitness location in Garland, Texas, and unfortunately, my experience fell well below the standard I expected from a facility of this calibre. While the gym itself offers impressive amenities, the quality of the staff’s customer service was noticeably lacking. Several team members came across as rather rude and dismissive, which created an unwelcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in. Instead of offering assistance or even basic courtesy, staff interactions felt rushed and uninterested, as though addressing member concerns was an inconvenience. For a premium fitness club, this sort of behaviour is quite disappointing. Professionalism and a friendly attitude should be the foundation of any membership-based service, and it’s especially important in an environment where people come to improve their wellbeing. Unfortunately, this location failed to deliver on that front. I am extremely disappointed with how this facility treats its paying members. One of the primary reasons I joined was the promise of access to *all* amenities, including the swimming pool, under a single membership fee. During my tour, this was clearly marketed as a shared resource available to everyone, aside from the occasional special event. However, that has not been the reality. The pool is now blocked off **every Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM**, which are peak hours when working adults can actually use the facility. This effectively removes any meaningful access for a large portion of the membership base. Meanwhile, there is already a separate kids’ pool that remains reserved, yet swim lessons are not shifted there to minimize disruption to other members. When I raised this concern with management, the response was shockingly dismissive and unprofessional. I was bluntly told that the swim team “pays more,” and therefore regular members simply cannot use the pool during those hours. That is not only unacceptable, it directly contradicts how the membership was sold. You cannot advertise equal access and then retroactively prioritize one group while everyone else continues paying the same fee. To make matters worse, when I asked for a partial refund or adjustment since I am being denied access to a major amenity I pay for, I was told that was not possible. No attempt at compromise. No effort to find a fair solution. Just a refusal. This feels like a classic bait-and-switch: market inclusivity to get members in the door, then remove access once they are locked into paying. The lack of transparency, professionalism, and respect for members’ time and money is extremely disappointing. If you are considering joining for the full-service experience, be aware that access to amenities may not be what is promised and that member concerns may not be taken seriously.

Great overall experience! One of their trainers (Emily) was great and coached me through a workout session and a stretching session. She was helpful, friendly and made the overall experience delightful. Great customer service! The gym and machines were clean and it wasn’t too crowded. All in all, Great Work LifeTime!

Update 02/09/2026: this is the 3rd day in a row and still no body wash available, really? Original Post 02/08/2026: There was no body wash available in the gym showers. If there’s a shortage, members should be notified in advance so we can bring our own or plan accordingly. When paying this much for a club membership, basic amenities like this should be consistently provided or proper notification.

We recently joined this gym because our daughter 7 year old love swimming and most other gyms do not let kids 12 and younger in the pools in general. Since then we found out that the swim team / Coach Adam is a great coach and has helped my daughter improved tremendously and is slowly starting to push herself. My wife has also joined a swim class and now knows how to swim. I have been hooked on pickleball and been playing none stop. The open play here are great but they really do need more courts. The parking lot in the back need to be redone and made into another 3 courts.
