Lapetite Academy - Port Orange

We were long-time supporters of this location, but the quality of care declined significantly after the director was fired last October and much of the experienced staff left. Since then, there has been constant turnover, poor management, and a lack of accountability. Our child has been left in the same diaper all day multiple times, is not taken to the bathroom when he asks, and often comes home with soiled clothes despite being mostly accident-free at home. We reported these concerns, and DCF visited and fined the center for staffing ratio violations. We also contacted corporate and management multiple times, but nothing has improved. Recently, our child has been moved between classrooms with no consistency in teachers, and he has come home with unexplained injuries on more than one occasion. Communication from management has been unprofessional and dismissive, and concerns are minimized instead of addressed. A daycare should provide stability, supervision, and basic care — and right now, this location is failing to do that. We are actively trying to transfer our child but are stuck on waitlists. If you are considering enrolling here, be aware of the ongoing staffing and management issues. Parents deserve transparency, safe care, and responsive leadership.

My daughter has been there since August and even with a switch of directors, everyone we have come in contact with are amazing. Kira, Kameron, and Jessie are especially attentive, they are so patient with my daughter and handle the children really well, anytime I look on the cameras the kids are all doing an activity or outside which is great to see! My daughter can name all of her friends she has made and genuinely looks forward to going, it’s a huge relief! Thank you!

We’re so thankful for La Petite Academy in Port Orange and especially Finley’s amazing teachers, Cierra and Kristi. As first-time parents, it means everything to know he’s in a safe, loving, and patient environment. Finley lights up when he sees his teachers, and it’s clear how much they care for him. The communication, updates, and little moments they share with us each day give us so much peace of mind. We feel truly lucky to have found a place where Finley is happy, cared for, and growing every day. Highly recommend!

So far, we are excited to start! The director here was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions about getting my son in the door and anything else I needed to know. I wanted to come on here and add to my review since I can’t do a new one. I would love to give a shout out during the holiday season to ALL the teachers who do their very best and try to make the difference for the kids here at La Petite.. My son is in the toddler room. To Ms. Ciera Taylor…I would like to give an additional shout out!! B/c every single time I walk through the door to either pick my son up or drop him off, she always greets me & my son, with a smile! Mrs. Taylor just always sticks out to me! She is a breath of fresh air! I hope she gets to see this shout out! ❤️ I don’t get to interact with everyone working at La Petite unfortunately but I would just like to give this shout out so that they know that their hard work is not unseen! Thank you! 😊

This daycare is beyond horrible. The management does not know how to communicate nor handle issues when brought to their attention. When a situation arises, which is very frequent, they state they will handle it and never do. Contacted upper management multiple times and the situations still occur. If you have your child enrolled at this facility, I highly recommend watching the cameras more frequently. Diapers don’t get changed when needed, bottles are missed, meals are missed as well. This daycare needs to be shut down immediately. I hear parents complain every day!
