La Petite Child Care Center

A lot has changed since my last review earlier this year, and I felt it was important to share an updated experience for families currently searching for childcare. I know how stressful and overwhelming that process can be, so I hope this helps ease some of that burden. We have three children enrolled at La Petite Academy – Ellicott City. Our 5-year-old graduated from their preschool program this summer and now attends their Before-and-After care, which has been a huge help for our family’s work schedule. Our 3-year-old is thriving in preschool, and our 9-month-old is in the infant class, where she is truly loved and well cared for. The academy has been outstanding overall. One of the most notable changes is the new Director, Ms. Jenn, who brings a strong background in Special Education and Autism. She’s also deeply connected within Howard County, making her a valuable resource for families who may need guidance or support navigating local services. Together with Ms. Destinee, they form a powerful leadership team that ensures smooth daily operations while supporting staff, students, and parents. The teachers and staff are wonderful. They stick to their educational plans, and it shows in the children’s development. Our 3-year-old is already learning to spell letters and his name — we’re getting there! And our baby girl is clearly adored by her caregivers, which gives us so much peace of mind. The professionalism, care, and dedication at this academy are truly commendable. If you're considering childcare options, I highly recommend La Petite Academy – Ellicott City. It’s a place where your children will be nurtured, educated, and loved.

Ms, Jenn and Ms. Destinee, plus the whole Staff is Awesome. they are super connected and responsive, when I need them to be. We always have good conversation about whatever is needed to be done. and they help me through that process if need be...Clean safe facility. and I like that they offer meals at this facility as well with on site cook which (Ms Brittney) is awesome meal selections. And my son is autistic, and they take really good care of him.

This school is so helpful! My kids attend when schools are closed through their Flex Care program. It’s a program where you can drop off 5 total days throughout the year and we can purchase as many cards as we want through the year! Such a help! Ms. Jenn and Ms. Destinee have always been supportive and flexible with our drop in care. Easy communication and their communication app is even better, they have camera access for parents!

Review - March 2025 I toured a few different day care centers in Columbia and I was just not at ease until I toured at La Petite - Ellicott City. The Assistant Director Destinee called me and invited me to come tour this facility. Not only was the building properly secured, me and my children were welcomed like no other day care centers had welcomed us before. During the tour, I had the opportunity to see all the classrooms and personally met the on-site staff and teachers. Destinee provided all the information I needed and make us feel like beyond welcomed. During my tour, I also had the opportunity to officially meet the Director Robin. She is a on-hand Director that fully supports her staff and it really shows. This facility is also very clean, organized, and welcoming. After my tour, I signed my two children up that same day because for the first time, I felt like I could trust leaving my children here. Another big plus is that this facility has cameras, allowing you the chance to watch your child while they are in their classroom. Their teachers also provide live updates on what your child has ate for breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and PM snack. They also send parents photos of their child activities.This is really helpful because I know they are fine while I’m at work. Their operating hours (7am - 6pm) also works great with my family’s work schedule. So happy I found this place for our family!

This place is the best school for babies, infants, toddlers, and pre school age children. The environment is professional, loving, and comfortable. The curriculum is great, they teach gross motor and many other developmental skills. The kinetics program is awesome. They have weekly lesson plans and the Administrators engage daily with us parents. La Petite Academy was recommended to me by another parent and I took a chance by sending my baby here. They have yet to fail and certainly have raised the bar. I will always have love for this school. Thank you for all that you do La Petite. 💕💕💕💕 -Jazz
