What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise KinderCare Learning Center #1366 in Burien (Normandy Park) for its warm, caring staff and positive learning environment. Children are reported to be happy, engaged, and developing well. The center is noted for strong parent communication, quality curriculum, and excellent leadership under Director Matt Fuentes.
As a family member of a child attending this center, I want to share some concerns regarding my nephew’s experience. I want to acknowledge that the teachers and classroom staff work extremely hard and are clearly dedicated to the children. Unfortunately, leadership is lacking. As noted in prior reviews, the director is largely absent from day-to-day operations, and many responsibilities fall on staff without proper guidance. There have been multiple occasions where my nephew was placed in an opening classroom with over 15 children and only one teacher. Cleanliness and organization are also concerning in areas not visible to families, and procedures do not appear to be consistently followed. The front lobby and overall upkeep rely heavily on already overworked staff. Even shared spaces such as cubby areas are often disorganized, and during a recent pickup, the director’s office appeared extremely cluttered. This center has strong employees who care deeply about the children, and the assistant leader is often present and helpful. However, the center would greatly benefit from more consistent, accountable leadership. Upper management needs to take a closer look at how the center is operating behind the scenes. I’ve tried to stop by and speak with the manager but it seems like they’re never there the whole day?
I am very grateful for Normandy Park KinderCare. My two kids have been going here since they have been at least 5 months old, and I have zero regrets. My older child looks forward to daycare, and my younger child smiles when she sees her teachers. It is a great feeling to know that my children are having a wonderful time while I am not with them. The teachers are all warm and kind, and you can tell that they care for the children. Highly recommend!
The teachers at Normandy Park KinderCare are truly wonderful and caring — they’re the only reason I’ve stayed. Unfortunately, the center itself is not well maintained. The toddler room often feels dirty, with sticky floors, unkept playground, and lingering smells that go unnoticed. My child was happy which Is due to the staff but I cannot ignore the cleanliness. My issue falls upon the actual director who is rarely present to aid parent or staff concerns. It’s frustrating to see amazing teachers working so hard without proper support or leadership.
This KinderCare is absolutely amazing! Truly I love leaving my sweet angel baby girl here in such great care! The infant teacher Ms. Deepali is truly the best and made us feel comfortable bring our baby here from when she was 4 months and is now 10 months and thriving. She is so social and happy and is growing so well. Everyone loves her and treats her so well. I always get updates and pictures and anytime she’s ever been sick or not herself I’ve been notifies right away! Mr. Matt is a great center director and always has fun activities for the kids and sweet and kind events that help out families! Thank you for taking such good care of our sweet baby!
Ashley is amazing you’re hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do at the center. And also wanted to say thank you to Ro always cleaning and keeping everything sanitized.
