What Parents Say
Kid's Place is a highly-regarded preschool in Fort Walton Beach with predominantly positive feedback. Parents praise the dedicated teachers, multi-classroom approach, creative learning environment, and strong academic preparation for kindergarten. One negative review cited rude owner behavior on the phone.
Kerri Marie 5 star Mrs. Fielder and all of her teachers are amazing! I honestly wish we had more than one year at this school! They're all great with the kids, and I love that they go to multiple classes, doing different things in each, instead of just being cooped up in one class room all day! My son Malachi came home telling me things that I didn't expect him to learn until he was actually in elementary school!! Kid's Place is the ONLY preschool I recommend to anyone! I would send Malachi back there again in a heart beat!
I just absolutely love the job they did with my daughter. This place truly cares for and loves your children as if they were their own. I saw such growth in my daughter from her experience there. They make me want to have another kid just so I can send them there (not happening but the thought crossed my mind). The kids are encouraged to use their imaginations to create a unique, fun and creative environment.
It's been a pretty wonderful experience for my granddaughter at Kid's Place. While it's a small place with four rooms functioning as classrooms, and parking for the school is a small nightmare for the morning drop-off, the staff does a great job getting those 4 year olds through pre-kindergarten. Class size is about 10 kids per room and three classes for a maximum of 30 childrens. I understand the staff includes a number of retired teachers. Kids will find it pretty exciting, and if your child goes there you'll be hearing about "Fun Friday" (a movie and popcorn as treats that day) and "Wacky Wednesday" (shows up in the middle of the year as a day they are randomly assigned to different classroom for new experiences) . I think my granddaughter is well prepared for kindergarten, with having learned the alphabets, some writing skills, some early reading, number counting, shapes and colors. A previous review complained about their grandchild coming home dirty. Yes they will! But in a good way. The outside area is sandy, and with a troop of 30 active pre-K's running over it everyday it's more dirt than grass, just like every well used playground in Florida. A good bit of shade from the back porch and trees, and some playhouses and playsets to let the kids invent their own entertainment at playtime when the weather permits. The teachers use a lot of outdoor play to enforce classroom work, and the kids encourage to plan out and build all kinds of stuff using a unlimited supply of cardboard boxes. They made buses, castles, houses, and rocket ships, just as big as they wanted, in the time my granddaughter was there. I saw several of these projects, as my granddaughter loved to show them off when we came for pick-up time. Class time is 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and there is a optional lunch period for kids to bring a sack lunch and extend the social and play time to just before 3:00. While Pre-K time is free, as part of the public school education provided by the state, you will have to pay for the 2 hour "Lunch Brunch" and provide that sack lunch. Cost is not too much, but well worth it for my granddaughter :)
I enrolled my son here many years ago. I loved the teachers and everything about the school. I even recommend this school to my neice when her daughter became school age. I will always recommend this school
The Owner is VERY RUDE! She was so rude over the phone, and hung up on me before I could even finish speaking.. I can only IMAGINE how she acts in person. I would NEVER recommend this place for my children or anyone else’s!!
