When I was around 7 years old, I was sent to Kids Kottage around Christmas time after finding my parent overdosed at home after school. They cared for my 2 siblings and I unconditionally for almost 3 weeks and gave us a sense of love and safety when we needed it most. I remember being tucked into bed at night and even being read stories when I was too scared to sleep. They did my hair, fed us nutritious meals, and we were simply there to be kids. Something I didn’t know I was able to do at 7. Now I am 23, a certified health care aide with honours and live independently with two cats. There IS hope. This organization helped carve the path of faith for me, and I will forever be grateful for their utmost kindness and care. Thank you Kids Kottage, for everything you did for me as a kid, and thousands of others too.
Amazing refuge for kids and a way for parents to get that breather that they need when there might be no support and cps is not a option for pride. The staff cant be more amazing.
