What Parents Say
Kidlink Learning Centers receives mostly positive reviews praising engaged staff, good communication, and quality care, particularly in the infant room. However, recent reviews indicate concerns about declining standards, inconsistent teacher quality, poor management under director Rachel, and a serious safety incident involving a staff member.
My husband and I waited 18 years to have our baby girl, so as you can imagine I was nervous about picking a daycare. I checked Kidlink out on a friend's recommendation. I have been VERY pleased with the attention and care she receives! I'm not sure what their internal process is but it's working. If I tell one care giver information, the next one I speak with already knows what's going on. When I asked them to do more tummy time with her it started happening immediately and consistently. I could tell because of the improvement in tummy time at home. My baby girl is always clean and happy when I pick her up and the daily infant communication sheets are great for helping me keep track of progress and patterns in her growth. The interaction I see with workers and older children is fantastic. Love the wording used for correction. I can tell the children know the rules and expectations and are used to consistency. Thanks Kidlink! Keep up the good work!
I've changed my 5-star rating to a 2 star. My boys went there for 6 years. The first 3-4 years they attended were ultimately a time I felt comfortable leaving my children and rated them 5 stars. Kidlink would put time into organizing amazing field trips during summer camp; the teachers were kind and seemed like they were genuinely happy to be there. Unfortunately, Kidlink has progressively tapered into a facility that is just below average. To be honest, before we left, there were few teachers there that were pleasant and genuinely caring to the children. Ms. Twyla was kind, caring, and my boys really liked her; but sadly, she seemed tired, much like an employee who has realized they have peaked and there is no more advancement or higher compensation with their job. Linda is the owner and is so incredibly sweet. My children loved her. She was always so kind. I loved that she would bake often for all of the kids, and was hands on by participating in activities. You can tell she genuinely has a passion for children and child development. In more recent years, Kidlink has hired really young, inexperienced help, which isn't unusual for a childcare center, but they don't seem to invest toward training properly. My 10-year-old son had been asked by a male teenage teacher to leave the facility to help him toss trash, out in the trash bin located in front of the building. While they were out in the parking lot, the teenage teacher showed him his gun, that was kept in his car. We filed a police report and Kidlink seemed to handle the situation the best they could, by letting the kid go, and trying to establish new protocol. I had received txt messages from some of the staff complaining, more should have been done with training- thereafter. A testament that my review is not just my opinion. I understand why the owner would probably not want to draw any more negative attention to his business, but Bill (the other owner) grossly downplayed the facts of the incident, in a parent email, which was annoying, manipulated, and sub-factual to parents that should have known the truth. I believe proper training to begin with would have helped eliminate having my child do the staff's chores, or leave the building without a parent present, altogether. Ultimately, my youngest would beg me to take him anywhere else, and cry-dreading the next day, all because he was afraid of the director, Rachel. Both of my children would come home (often) complaining about Rachel. They would complain that she yelled often and would get frustrated easily. I chalked it up to them complaining-as kids do; until I witnessed this for myself, on more than one occasion. To remain factual with my review: Rachel- the director, is sloppy and does not contribute positively to Kidlink. In my opinion, get a new, more caring director that concentrates more on being pleasant to the staff and kids- rather than fake to the parents. Overall, I'd say the location is prime (being next to Pioneer Elementary). Toward the end of our time there they worked with me as a single mother, so that I could make payments and have my boys attend, which was/is much appreciated. Management of the facility has led the staff to seem uninterested, unenergized, and poorly trained. All can possibly be fixed and back to a prime childcare facility by redirecting how all are managed. I hope they read this and take it as a tool to be better for the kids. That's the goal of a childcare learning center, right?
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kidlink and the people who work there. The infant room is outstanding! The teachers will love on your baby like he/she is theirs and they were always very honest about how the day went. As a new mom you want to know if your kid was a screaming mess all morning. The 1's classroom has been amazing too, my son asks to bring the teachers with him places on the weekends. He says "Yay!" when I say we are going to school. The teachers are also great sounding boards for parenting help. Obviously I know my kid best but they know children better than anyone. It take a village and Kidlink is definitely a great place to be.
There are honestly no words to explain how much I love and appreciate KidLink. Bill and Linda have a passion for what they are doing and they deliver always more than my expectations. We have two girls, ages 3 and 4 who have gone there for over a year. We even have moved across the treasure valley and have tried other preschools but have always felt drawn back to KidLink. At this point, I'm done looking....our HOME is at KidLink! We will gladly drive across town (even though I work 2 min from my home) to get them there every day. Bill and Linda have been an answer to prayer on more than one occasion - LITERALLY. They have cared for our children deeply. Also, the teachers are amazing! I trust them wholeheartedly and my girls love it there. They are thriving! My 3 year old came home speaking Spanish recently, and her sister is telling me facts about our solar system that I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!! :) Bottom line, Kidlink believes in taking care of not only the kids they have enrolled, but the families that these kids belong to as a whole! Their hearts are solid and full of love...it doesn't go unnoticed!!
We took our daughter to Kidlink for 3+ years - from 2 months old to 3 1/2 years old. She loved it there and was well cared for. They always had lots of fun activities for the kids and time for free play. We had to move her last fall because we moved to the other side of town, but we were sad to go.
