I ended up visiting this place after a flyer was sent home from school and my son wanted to go to the "Drop Zone" event. I figured it was like a science type thing where we would just observe how different objects fall and such. No. This was icky. This was many food items being dropped from cherry pickers. I'm talking tons of fresh fruit, eggs, milk, sodas, etc. Multiple loads of food.. just wasted. Heartbreaking to witness especially if you're someone who struggles to provide groceries at times. When asked had I been there before and I replied no .. I was referred to as "from the street". I was asked to check my kids in and then offered to leave them outside while I remained inside. My kids had never met any of these people. I of course remained with my kids but I think this community needs to understand that just because they are church going christians does not mean I trust any of them with my kids. Just sharing my experience. Update - they have since sent me multiple texts.. showed up to my home with cookies .. and I just received a hand written postcard in the mail. Way too aggressive for me. Little scary actually.
This is a great place! Our kids absolutely love the kids and youth team at this campus. The Bible is taught, the people are amazing, and the facilities are beautiful.

I got saved while visiting the West Campus in 2011, and have attended ever since. Before attending James River, I never felt like I could feel comfortable in a church, but now I truly feel at home. The people here are amazing, and the love that the staff has for God and the church members encourages me every time I am around them. If you don’t have a church home, James River is a great place to be!
From souls I trust, and what I've heard and seen personally, heard and observed good things over the years. Who is good, only the Father is good. And I believe His Holy Spirit inhabits this place and many of the souls there. Come Holy Spirit, more, more, more for 2024, a great outpour! Amen. If religious critics or even critics in general are any indication of affecting the Father's will here on earth, and they were for Christ Jesus, well then perhaps some amount of the critics and persecution is an indication that this place is blessed, Matt 5.
