I attend the James River North Campus and I want to say first that I have truly experienced the presence of God here. The worship, teaching, and heart for people are powerful, and I’m genuinely grateful for that. I’ve had moments here where I knew God was moving. That being said, I do feel led to mention something that has been difficult. I have repeatedly overheard gossip among attenders — even from those who are serving. This has happened on more than one occasion, including during events like DFL. It feels very high school–clique at times, and that kind of culture is not reflective of biblical community. I say this with love and not bitterness. I still appreciate the North Campus and what it has done for my walk with God. But this issue has made me prayerfully consider whether I should look at other church homes where the culture among the people reflects more Christ-like unity and humility.
James River Church North Campus is a wonderful place to bring your whole family to church. The presence of the Lord is there, and people are being saved and healed every week. From the time you walk through the doors, you will feel like you are at home, from the parking lot hosts to the auditorium hosts you will feel so welcome. The services are amazing, the worship and the preaching will encourage and strengthen you. This is a place where God is moving for sure!
JR North is such a cute, warm church. They stay with the bible, wonderful kids area. Also very safe. Worship is empowering and Pastor Josh is so relatable and warm when he preaches.
I have attended James River North Campus for a number of years and here is why. I so appreciate the campus staff members who work hard to create an inviting atmosphere. They lead the services in a way that truly invites the presence of the Lord into the auditorium. The worship is very good, lead by volunteers who engage with what the Lord is doing in each song. When all the campuses join together it is done seamlessly allowing the people at our campus to feel a part of the larger church with all 4 campuses joined together. I'm a generally quiet person and am thankful for a church that allows me to be me and still challenges me to be all God wants me to be. I love this church!
Our family loves James River Church North Campus! I’m so thankful to be a part of a church where God is moving and where I can serve with others who love the Lord and people. This is home
