What Parents Say
IHC Child Development Center is an Intermountain Healthcare employee-exclusive facility with highly praised teaching staff and structured educational curriculum. Parents consistently highlight caring, professional teachers and safe environments, though some express concerns about food quality, facility space, and outdoor time. The center recently improved its meal program through partnership with LDS Hospital.
My little one has been going here for 3 years and we love it! The caregivers are always friendly and say hello to my little one in the hallways, even if she hasn’t been in their class/group for a while. They keep the ages separated in groups, the lesson plans are very educational. My little one has remarkable learning skills compared to friends who don’t attend daycare. I truly do wish they expanded to more than just one location for the entire salt lake county. For those complaining about the food can get over themselves, the children are not forced to eat the food provided and the parents can choose to send their own food to eat if they wanted. The caregivers for each group send photos to the parents through a private group on an app and keep us updated on our child’s progress.
Both of my children are currently attending this center and they are great! I had previous colleagues from Intermountain Health rave about this daycare so, once I had my child, I immediately placed her on their waitlist. The teachers are so great. Everyone at the center knows my children by name. Their curriculum for the preschool and pre-k is pretty well structured and impressive. Since we have started there, they have been improving. As other reviews mentioned, the menu wasn’t the greatest but they changed it so the food is more nutritious. They started to work with LDS Hospital to provide snacks/meals. It is nice not to have to worry about packing food as the meals are included in the tuition. They have also started to implement a parent app where teachers communicate and send photos to parents. Parents are able to communicate with other parents too which is nice for playdates. The center is trying to create a culture where parents can meet other parents by having more social events after work hours. As a working parent, it’s so hard to meet others so these events are nice to meet families also at the center. Conclusion, they are great. The only feedback would be that I wish they had room to grow. I think being downtown restricts their potential to expand.
Thoughtful age appropriate lesson plans, safe and clean environment, staffed by professionals who care for our children so we can take care of our communities. (Healthcare staff daycare). @intermountain health: please expand this critical and valuable benefit with more child development centers, For Intermountain health providers
While the teaching staff is wonderful - the unhealthy /junk food served daily, the tap water full of pollutants and the cramped facility with barely any space for kids to move around - are big issues and a major health concern. Regardless what the parents survey results shows, plus the alarming number of kids with food allergies, the center’s managing team is not willing to invest into updating the kids menu. And this is a healthcare organization own childcare center. How embarrassing !
Available only to Intermountain Healthcare employees, this child care facility is top notch! Great, loving teachers with high quality curriculum in a safe and secure environment where children make healthy lasting attachments with their teachers. Available for ages 6 weeks to kindergarten and a summer camp for up to age 8 in the summer. Can't recommend them highly enough!
