Hugs Day Care

I took my daughter there for about 6 months before I decided to make a change. While I appreciate the structure and routine they seem to maintain with the children, I feel like there is a huge gap between staff and parents (in my personal experience) Drop off and pick-up was almost always unsettling. Many times we would be unacknowledged by my child’s “teacher” as we walked in. My daughter had some severe separation anxiety and it often seemed like a burden to the staff. Many times my daughter would be crying and begging for more hugs and comfort from me and no one would offer to step in and help with transition. I often had to ask the staff members to help ease her in. It made for very unpleasant drop offs. Pick up was not much better as far as interaction. I would ask questions about the day and ask how my daughter was doing, if there were any concerns, the staff members in the evening often had no idea because they only work at the end of the day, so it was apparent that there was little to no communication between staff members during shift change or transitions. I found out about a behavioral issue that had been going on for quite a while waay after it had begun, which made it very difficult for me to address with my daughter. I never did find out if it was resolved. However, I was always pleased with my interactions with Christina and Mary. Also, we were very fond of “Star”was crazy about her and I could tell she made a real effort to care for and connect with the children. I would like to add that they were amazing with potty training. I couldn’t believe how quickly my daughter potty trained, and I believe they were very consistent and encouraging in that regard. Would I ever return to the facility? No. Would I recommend it to friends and family? Probably not.

It’s been an absolute pleasure having my twins attend hugs. Knowing that I’m taking them daily to be watched by competent and loving individuals is such a relief. I’ve had horrific experiences with Daycare‘s in the past and I’m thankful that they attend a facility where I know they are not only in a safe environment but educational as well. This staff is outstanding. I’d highly recommend for anyone to go here.

Owner overstepping boundaries without consulting the parents and very poor attitude when talked to about it. Some of the employees are great while some play favorites and ignore or exclude certain children from things they are doing or something they are allowing other children to do. My son's will never be back here

Hugs is AMAZING! They are so good with the babies and kids! Highly recommend for daycare!
