What Parents Say
Reviews are overwhelmingly positive about the facility and community services. Parents praise the welcoming atmosphere, supportive staff, and diverse programming. However, reviews appear to focus more on community center services (food shelf, job fair, concerts) than childcare specifically.
Very nice place, rich in culture, auditorium has comfy seats. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. I hadn't been in the building since I was a teenager and well I'm 46 now. I enjoyed myself, the people, the atmosphere. Walking through the halls there is so much to look at and take in on the walls.
The Father Project at Sabathani has been one of the most positive and supportive resources in my life. My caseworker is incredibly dedicated, patient, and understanding. They give real guidance—not judgment—and have helped me stay grounded, organized, and focused on my goals as a father. The program provides stability, accountability, and community during times when it’s easy to feel alone. The staff here genuinely cares about helping fathers succeed, rebuild, and stay connected to their children. I’m thankful for the encouragement, mentorship, and consistent support I receive here. Five stars without a doubt.
I give this place a 4 out of 5 stars. It's far away from me and my car is broke right now so I take public transportation. Im grateful for the clothing closet help, Im slowly building a wardrobe again from what I lost. Today, I was clothes shopping and my bag was outside the door with my new fleece jacket and somebody stole the jacket. It was a cool day out and I was tired and disheartened from this so I waited 2 hours for a ride. Please don't take people's stuff when you come here. It's not nice. I was in tears. I work very hard and put in a lot of time and effort to get to this place. I suffer from mental health and I don't need that. The staff are great here, very kind. They go above and beyond. Im taking a break from coming here for a while as the commute is too taxing and there's no guarantee once you get here. By the way, the hoodie came from sabathani. I had just got it the week before and it fit perfect. We're not allowed to have bags in the room. Next time I come my car will be fixed, so no bag. Watch your stuff, especially your cell phones and personal clothes or they might get swiped.
By 10:05 on a Tuesday morning there were 77 people in line for the food shelf already. It seemed like the line was moving quickly but it's best if you get there early for the food shelf or you'll be waiting for a long time to grab some food. The people seemed nice but the fact is that the need greatly outweighs what's offered.
A cornerstone of the Southside community for years. In these times we need to come together...may Sabathani stay healthy and thriving for years to come!
