I strongly recommend bringing in new management that can provide better communication and planning for families. Recently, I signed my son up for flag football, and we attended the first practice on 09/05, only to be informed after practice that there weren’t enough players to form a team for his age group. These are kids, and explaining this to a 10-year-old was both disappointing and confusing for him. The way the situation was handled reflects extremely poor communication, and at no point was any accountability taken — only the fact stated that there weren’t enough players. It feels as though the YMCA prioritizes filling roles with volunteers or retirees rather than building a strong, reliable team to support the community and families who trust your programs. Better management, planning, and timely communication are necessary to avoid situations like this in the future.
I'm visiting from out of town. Larry was wonderful. He contacted my home Y and I was able to do my routine wellness session. I returned again and he was great. Taking Sandy's class was great. Thanks again Larry.
My daughter's with intellectual disabilities have been attending this facility for years attending swimming lessons. Affiliated with Alliance (medicaid) for years they have been working with us on delayed payments, but under new management they have stopped their lessons until payment received. Waiting on them to send in a quote for lessons for several weeks, no one has gotten back to us. This facility has had on going turn overs with swim instructors. Very disappointing 😞

I am writing to express my concern regarding the billing and membership cancellation issues I have been facing at your Alba Moro Road location. In January, I visited the YMCA office to put my membership on hold for three months due to my overseas travel plans. At that time, I was not informed that there would be any charges during this hold period, nor was I made aware of any fees that would continue to be charged to my credit card. The representative I spoke with, Larry, did not provide any such information. Since then, I have moved to a location far from the YMCA, over 30 minutes away, and as a result, I decided to cancel my membership. I visited a different YMCA location to formally cancel my membership, and I was assured that the cancellation would be processed and that I would not be charged further. However, I noticed that I was charged for this month despite having put my account on hold and submitting the cancellation request. I returned to the original location where I spoke with Larry again, who acknowledged the mistake and confirmed that I should not have been charged for this month. He mentioned that the manager, who was unfortunately unavailable due to illness, would be the one to handle the refund, and I was told to come back when she is available. Additionally, I spoke with a manager from the headquarters office last week, a lady, and explained the entire situation to her. She confirmed that my membership should have been canceled specially after I submit the cancellation form online I am extremely frustrated at this point, as I have followed the procedures and still face issues with the charges. I am requesting a prompt resolution, including the refund of the charge to my credit card. I do not have the time to make another visit to the location, and I expect a solution to be provided without further inconvenience. I am also disappointed in the lack of communication and the poor customer service I have received, especially considering the multiple assurances I’ve been given. Please let me know how you plan to address this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
