Dogwood Lane Children'S Academy

Our daughter attended this daycare for about a year. We switched her recently after my mommy senses were tingling that something wasn’t quite right. She stopped wanting to go to school and was having a hard time at drop off. She thrived there when she was under the care of two wonderful teachers who have since left. After that, it seemed like every month another teacher was leaving or an admin. Children need consistency and structure. They need to build relationships with their teachers to feel safe. It’s not possible at this school as they don't seem to be able to keep staff. My advice would be to take feedback from your staff to find out what they need to stay. It may be time to reevaluate your compensation structure or culture. There is a star system in place for NC daycares. Dogwood shows up as a 1 star when I last checked. I asked them about this, and I was told dogwood “doesn’t use this” but I’m not sure that is accurate. We are now at a 5 star facility and there seems to be more of a structure and focus on learning.

I pulled my daughter out of this daycare in May. After 3 good years here the school became a revolving door of teachers and major things began to slide. We brought this to the administration and were told they would put new policies in place. They never enforced them so I pulled my daughter out because I did not feel she was safe here. This place is a mismanaged mess and the owners are some of the most incompetent people I've ever met when it comes to child care. I would feel better having a middle schooler watch my children or stick them in front of a TV while I work than leaving them at Dogwood Lane.

Dogwood Lane is the absolute best. The teachers are wonderful and they have an excellent curriculum which they share with the parents.. Beautiful Montessori styled classrooms, with functional toys & no TV's. Every single staff member truly cares - we are always greeted by our smiling toddler at the end of the day & a smile from the staff. They serve organic fruit / whole foods everyday with a rotating meal plan. Hand made meals each day, so good I wish they would pack lunches for the parents.. When we have our second child, they will be going to Dogwood! - A very happy Dogwood Lane parent

We’re so lucky we found Dogwood Lane!! It’s different from any other daycare our kids have ever gone to. So much thought and care is put into every aspect of the school. We loved the healthy meals/snacks, the hands-on activities (which are developmentally appropriate and switched out every week!), the caring teachers and staff, and the focus on simple and natural learning. It’s owned by a wonderful couple and they – along with their daughters – are so involved in the day to day life of the school. One of the owners, Jessica, even works one-on-one with students every day to deliver an individualized learning plan focused on bringing out each child’s potential and helping them master whatever task they’re working on. My kids absolutely loved Dogwood Lane and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a caring place for their kids to learn and grow!!

We have had our oldest son at Dogwood since 2018. We now have both children attending. The ownership, director, teachers and staff have always gone above and beyond to ensure our children have the best experience. We appreciate the constant communication when it comes to sickness, staffing and/or procedure changes. -pictures and updates via procare app are very convenient -meal plan is fresh ,healthy and unique -curriculum is thought out and planned in advance -the facility is extremely clean! We would highly recommend !
