ENOR camp cares deeply for the youth and the mission of getting youth outdoors, instilling a love of nature and life skills, and stewardship of the land. What sets it apart from other outdoor camps is a combination of research-based curriculum for education alongside fun and engaging outdoor activities with peers and experienced educators. The cost and hours are also among the most competitive in the region for full-day offerings. It’s put on by Colorado State University Extension, Jefferson County which is a division of both CSU and Jefferson County Parks and Open Space.
If your child isn’t SUPER outdoorsy or has any neurodivergence at all, I would NOT recommend this camp. The counselors are not equipped to deal with it, and they will shame you every day when you come to pick them up. A little compassion, empathy and encouragement would go a long way, but they are severely lacking in every aspect. I was told multiple times I should keep my daughter home, even though I’d already paid a ton of $ for the camp, and had to work. They don’t care, they don’t want to deal with a “difficult” child. I would never recommend it, and will definitely never return. Incredibly disappointing in so many ways.
A great weeklong camp experience that every kid in the area should go to! Kids learn so much about the outside world and nature all around them!
