Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool

Our first child attended ELP for a year, and we plan to enroll our second child once he turn two. English is not our family’s first language, but the entire school community has been incredibly kind and supportive, which has made us feel very comfortable and confident sending our child here. Before choosing ELP, we toured several nearby preschools, and ELP stood out right away. The classrooms are clean, well-organized, and clearly designed with children’s learning and development in mind. Our first child is strong-willed and used to struggle with impulse control, but thanks to the teachers’ warm, patient, and professional guidance, we’ve seen amazing improvement—both at school and at home. We are truly grateful to the teachers and staff for their care and dedication. The office staff is always friendly and communicates promptly about snow days, schedule changes, and school events. We also love how ELP helps children build social skills, emotional regulation, and early academic foundations like letters and numbers. The STEM activities are especially impressive—fun, engaging, and very age-appropriate. We highly recommend ELP and are thankful for everything the teachers and staff do for our children.

We’ve had a wonderful experience at Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool (ELP)! My son was in the Twos class this past year with Mrs. Irvine, and I can’t say enough good things about the teachers. They put so much time, effort, and heart into everything they do. The program is thoughtfully designed, with fun and engaging activities and the most adorable crafts. When my son started the year, he was barely talking — and now he knows his ABCs, colors, animals, shapes, and numbers! The class gets plenty of outdoor time, both on the playground and through nature walks when the weather allows, which has been such a great way for the kids to explore and get their energy out. Mrs. Morgan, the director, runs the program with so much care and intention, and Mrs. Barrett, the registrar, is incredibly kind and welcoming. They even organize parent & child meetups before school starts, which helped us feel more connected to the community. We absolutely loved our time at ELP and highly recommend it to any family looking for a loving, joyful, and enriching preschool experience.

Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool is an exceptional early childhood program located in the heart of Vienna. My family feels so grateful for our time here since 2019. The amazing team of highly trained teachers and staff place a premium on developmentally appropriate curriculum and thoughtful behavioral support. The curriculum is enriched with music and movement, STEM lessons, and engaging literacy instruction. Every classroom includes ample staff to meet the needs of all learners and engage each child in creative play with peers. The administration team provides regular parent communication and truly cares for every child, forging connections with each family. In an area with many preschool options, Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool stands out among the rest.

We absolutely LOVE Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool! The Director, Mrs. Morgan is one-of-a-kind amazing! The teachers and staff are also wonderful. Our son entered Emmanuel as a young two year old. His developmental growth skyrocketed after attending ELP. He was slower to talk and had been getting speech therapy, but once he started attending ELP and working with the teachers and staff, his speech started progressing at a rate we hadn’t seen. Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool did so much more for his speech development than anything else we tried. Emmanuel has also been wonderful for physical and mental development. They do “Creative Movement” created by Mrs. Morgan and her 25 plus years of experience with teaching children is really evident. We truly LOVE Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool and the teachers and staff that work there! Our son has grown so much since attending ELP and we love hearing him talk about how excited he is to go to school every day!

My youngest child is a proud graduate of the Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool. He started as a 2 1/2 year old and graduated from the 4's class. ELP's teachers, staff, and administration are second to none - patient, kind, loving, and I could go on. He loved Creative Movement, Science, and Chapel. After his 3 years at ELP, he was curious, confident, and ready to take on kindergarten! We can never thank ELP enough for giving him such a great start.
