A great church with a welcoming atmosphere. The pastor does an excellent job breaking everything down so it’s easy to understand and apply to daily life. The people are very friendly and make you feel at home from the moment you walk in.
I have found that Emmanuel Baptist Church is a place where you can expect that the Pastor’s sermons are based on the word of God which is scripture from the Holy Bible. I have found Sunday school, bible study, home groups, Men and Women’s groups and studies, children’s activities and even been able to serve as part of an audio visual and praise team. If you are new to the area or just looking for a church I would recommend Emmanuel Baptist Church.
We started coming in 2017 and I have grown to really like it here. Now being here 5 years ish. I have grown here, especially under pastor Tim's leadership. I have seen many changes since being here for the good. This truly has become a multi ethnic and multi generational church. I did have reservations at first with Emanuel being a part of the Southern Baptist Convention. The worship team is mixed with all ages and ethnicities. They do not put on a show, but do mix up the music from contemporary to hymns. Beautiful voices and melody. Not one person is a super star, but as a team they glorify Jesus in their gifts! The preaching is solid as Pastor Tim preaches the word expository (books of the bible). No false gospel stuff here. He is a pastor who loves to disciple and see people grow. He is very humble and wise. Exactly what you'd want in your pastor. We have a Hispanic, Korean, Chinese, and Persian congregation that meet here as well. I So why only 4 stars? We can do so much better as a body with evangelism and community outreach. That's with most churches today though. Modern, suburban Christianity annoys me especially in Northern VA. We do have a food pantry, and during the pandemic gave out boxes of food. I would actually give Emmanuel a 4.4. Check it out and visit. If you do most likely I’ll walk around and say “Hello”!!!

Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC) warmly and lovingly welcomed my family. I have been searching for a long time for a church where I would obtain a better understanding of what it means to be a Christian. Pastor Tim does a wonderful job explaining the teachings in the Bible and – more importantly – how it applies to our lives. I have also started to attend the monthly Saturday Women’s Bible Study; one of the ministries offered by the church. It is a blessing to finally learn the teachings in the Bible. I am starting to have a better appreciation for, and a better understanding of, the Word of God. EBC is truly a place overflowing with Christ’s love.
