Early Steps is awesome! Not only is the school preparing our son for preschool (i.e. learning letters, numbers, shapes, colors, etc.), but they also enable potty training, teeth brushing, and extracurricular activities. There is also a monthly celebration and the children participate in performances, which are so beautifully done. I can’t recommend this place enough!
ESBP is a blessing! When looking for preschools for my son, I wanted a school that resembled elementary school. Having him do crafts, learning activities and events. When I found ESBP Springfield, they checked all the boxes! And the plus is that they are bilingual and it allows my son to continue to be around the Spanish language. I love that they offer extracurricular activities while they are in school such as karate and gymnastics. Soccer is offered during the summer camp. The administration staff is always working with you and responsive to anything you need. The teachers are so patient and care so much about the children. With all this, I can say I am happy and at ease that my son is happy and excelling academically. It’s amazing to see how much he has grown academically and personally in the short time he has been at the school.
Early Steps has been the best preschool experience for our family. When we transferred our son from another preschool (a Montessori program), we were concerned that he might struggle to adapt. However, the transition was seamless. From day one, he enjoyed every moment and felt right at home. At the time, he was behind academically, but thanks to Miss Maria Ferrufino’s dedication, he quickly caught up with his peers. Her guidance helped him feel confident and comfortable while learning to read, write, and perform basic addition and subtraction. She treats every child as if they were her own, and that care makes all the difference. I’ll never forget the joy I felt picking him up each day—he never wanted to leave because he was having so much fun. The entire teaching team ensures that no child is left behind. They also go above and beyond to teach children daily life skills, like brushing their teeth, combing their hair, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the classrooms and facilities. Miss Maria and her team even made lunchtime a learning experience, teaching the children about vitamins and minerals to encourage healthy eating habits. Choosing to switch schools was one of the best decisions we’ve made. I’ll be forever grateful to Early Steps Bilingual Preschool, Miss Maria Ferrufino, and the entire staff. If we ever have another child, I wouldn’t hesitate to enroll them here. There’s no greater peace of mind than knowing your child is truly cared for.
Initially, we were looking for childcare when we moved to Northern Virginia, and needed a place that we could afford as middle income and needed longer operating hours. Early Steps fit the bill! They are open 7 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday, practically the whole year from mid-August through late July (with a winter break and short spring break). And what we received in exchange has been life changing! Early Steps is a top notch place for kiddos (ages 2-5) to learn, grow, and prepare for school. The teachers and staff truly care about the growth of each child, and it is evident each and every day. The smiles, the songs, the friendships, and the fun activities! My child started at Early Steps at 2.5 years old, not talking a lot. At 4 years old, my child now speaks both Spanish and English well, can do math, and is able to read simple words. My child is also good at hand washing, toileting by themself, cleaning up toys and food, sharing and playing with others, and it's all due to Early Steps. Also, my kiddo has a severe food allergy (anaphylaxis) and Early Steps takes it very seriously, and has created a safe environment. There hasn't been had an incident for my child yet (1.5 years). Mil Gracias! Many Thank Yous! --- Important: Be sure to read the contract paperwork! One of the Google reviewers is right, that when you start Early Steps, you sign a contract for the WHOLE school year, so if your housing situation may change before the end of the contracted timeframe, you may not want to sign up.
This is an absolutely amazing school! We were in the Giraffes class, and had great communication from the school daily. My child loved all of the fun seasonal activities. The entire school staff is kind, competent and wonderful!
