Discovery World Early Education Center

As busy working parents, we usually feel a bit too busy to write reviews about anything, good or bad. But this time we do feel the urge to review and recommend Discovery World, the best childcare and preschool in South Bay Area! We originally toured DW in 2022 when our daughter was 18 months old. But because of their waitlist at that time, we decided to go to another daycare in this area. A huge mistake we really wish we hadn't made (a terrible experience for our little one and us parents too. We had to pull her out there after only one month). Fortunately our baby was able to join DW in 2023/08. Everything is different here. Experienced teachers, friendly staff, fun activities, and so much more! What really impressed us and drew contrast to other preschool is, how loving and caring everyone is at DW. Our daughter was shy at drop off. Every morning, the teachers (thank you Ms. Julie and Ms. Iana) would come greet her and hug her to help her ease into the classroom!!! Every teacher and staff knows every child very well, chats and plays with them. Teachers from different classrooms all learn about every student's hobbies (thanks Ms. Marni for reading "panda book" to our baby) and even their stuffie (they know the names of my daughter's TY "Jenni" kitties:-)). DW communicates with parents all the time (photos and videos every day, several teacher-parent conferences every year). DW offers great curriculum and the teacher execute very well. And DW organize the best activities (playing basketball at The LAB is my daughter's favorite). There are so much more to say about DW... We can't thank you enough Ms. Liana and your whole DW team for the amazing work in our little ones' early education!!!

Our son has been at Discovery World a little over year and a half and we have been very impressed. Discovery World uses Tadpoles as one way to keep us up to date with what our son is doing daily. Tadpoles is a service to share pictures/videos/comments with parents which my wife and I found to be fun and very helpful. I had never heard of Tadpoles before but I think its a great feature that more schools should use. The teachers would also meet with us periodically to give us an idea of what to expect at different ages. All of his teachers as well as the administrative staff have been great, caring, and communicative. The school name is fitting as they have the kids use their different senses to experience all sorts of things that I would never have thought of. Weekend trips are occasionally organized so kids can experience more of what they are learning outside of school. They also use sign language which was helpful with his communication at home at a young age and it still comes in handy. Discovery World is open 7 days a week until late at night, very convenient if needed. We are constantly amazed with the vocabulary he brings home. Our son has grown leaps and bounds and we think this school has really helped him.

My toddler son loves going to Discovery World! The teachers are wonderful, and the curriculum is very enriching. I love the monthly Around-the-World learning themes. The children have “traveled” to Argentina, Korea, Great Britain, China, Spain - even the lunch menu is coordinated to the theme! If you want your child to have a well-rounded education and a global perspective at an early age, then Discovery World is the place to be! Furthermore, Discovery World will email you Daily Reports of your child’s progress, which includes photographs and videos taken from that day. It is exciting to be able to see firsthand the activities and learning that occurs in the classroom. My child has been surprising me on a daily basis with the things that he has learned, including knowing all the colors in sign language! The classrooms at Discovery World are very clean. There is also a very secure check-in system which is fast and efficient. We even get reports about the air quality in LA! Discovery World has perfected the childhood educational experience, and I give it my highest recommendation!

Both of our sons went to Discovery for preschool. The teachers from Julie, Dina, to Keri were all loving, caring, and patient teachers. Liana and Sheryl were also very hands on and made sure the school was a safe and good learning environment. I highly recommend this school.

Our son has been going to Discovery World for a year now, and every day I regret not starting him sooner at this school. After only a few weeks in, we started noticing incredible changes. Our shy little boy suddenly learned how to express himself whether in happiness or anger, he would 'use his words' instead of crying. His vocabulary exploded with new words and he started thinking about and analyzing everyday situations around him in a very impressive manner. He started reading and doing simple math other kids his age could not yet do. The teachers (every single one of them) are simply wonderful, and they truly care about the children. I cannot say enough good things about Michelle and Keri. They teach the kids how to be self sufficient and boost their confidence level on a daily basis. They use simple, fun techniques and expose the kids to so much by 'traveling' to different countries, learning about other cultures, tasting different foods and even petting all kinds of animals, birds and reptiles! Thank you Discovery World for being everything our son needed in a preschool and more.
