What Parents Say
Discovery Station Childcare receives highly polarized reviews. Positive reviews praise the caring, loving staff and positive developmental experiences, while negative reviews document serious safety concerns including a child escaping the facility, inadequate illness monitoring, sanitation issues, and poor administrative responsiveness.
This place has been nothing but fantastic. Our 9 month old has been there about four months now, and they have been a tremendous help to us new parents in teaching him to eat solids, hold his own bottle, etc. The staff is great, Drea is very loving to our son, Theresa, Kailey, Sharon, and everyone else take care of him. No complaints at all, just a lot of thanks to them.
This place is a serious safety risk and should be shut down. My son attended this center when he was younger and on his last day ( because I pulled him out due to abuse and neglect) I picked him up and he was acting fussy once we were home I felt he was warm and took his temp 104! I received no calls throughout the day that he was unwell mind you he was 7 months old at the time. To take his temperature I had to take off his diaper and in doing so I noticed his groin was black. Again no calls were made to me regarding this during the day and it wasn’t like that when I brought him in that morning. We went to marry bridge immediately to find out he has a serious infectious disease from improper diaper changing and sanitation. This causes my son to spend months in the hospital having surgery and the facility had the NERVE to ask me why I wasn’t bringing him back and argue that he was completely fine the entire day. A fever of 104 would not be something that spontaneously started within our 5 min drive home. As you can see from the many reviews like mine this place is not only unsafe but negligent and money motivated.
My youngest child went here for roughly a year - this location was personally recommended to me by a coworker. My son loved “Teacher Teresa” and enjoyed his time there. She was so kind and patient with him, I felt like I was leaving him with a family member, rather than dropping him off at daycare. I’m so grateful for his positive experiences here!
I had my son on the waiting list for a good 7 months. Went in to the facility 4 times. They would tell me (when i would call them) they had an opening, but to call back to talk to the director to schedule a meeting. I tried many times. We went through this "tag" game for months and months. Finally, i decided they werent for us or our family. If you cant even call back then i start to wonder about the professionalism of the providers...The assistant director was friendly though, so thats the 1 star. Everything else was disappointing..
If I could give 0 stars I would. My kids have never gone here and I won't have them after today when I came across a maybe 4 year old in the middle of 160th and was almost hit by several cars! Myself and some others got him on the side and one of them said let's check the daycare while I was on with 911. We doubted a daycare would lose a kid but sure enough he was theirs. The girl acted like it was no big deal he got out. Basically "ya, he's ours thanks!" No real concern, didn't even ask of he was ok.
