Delight Ahead Early Childhood Center

I have 3 daughters who all attended Delight Ahead!!! My oldest is 5 years older than my last 2 girls, so we have been with them for quite a lot of years. My oldest excels in school, academically and athletically, she's always been ahead. My youngest is now in the 1st grade, listed on the "Watch List" for Gifted Children, she's also a social butterfly once she gets to know you!! My middle daughter is also Gifted excelling in all her studies with no social setbacks despite our home family dynamic. I was involved in a domestic violence relationship at the time, when I tell you I praise God that my daughters went to this school!!! They weren't afraid to talk to them and they helped me tremendously to get out of the situation. I believe they helped Pray my family out of a terrible situation!!! Thank you all for being there for my kids and myself always open door very caring staff!!

My son received head start services here for a year. I would not recommend to anyone to put their children here. Price is right because it’s super low, but other than that there are no strengths to this place. They do not follow mandated reporting for child abuse procedures and they know nothing about social and emotional development of toddlers or preschoolers. They would scream at my son not to be emotional “we don’t do that at delight ahead!” when he was being attacked by other children on a daily basis (hit, choked, pushed into walls, etc). No classroom management skills. Then they decided to change tactics and blame home and accused us of modeling violence at home. I took my son out of there that day and reported them to DCF for not reporting alleged abuse and not having the education or training necessary for their job. Nothing Christian about this place except for the judgment. In addition, my sons past teacher has reached out since we left and also said she hated working there and was happy for us that we left. One month after changing daycares and my son was a different person. Talking more and happy, not having meltdowns everyday about going to daycare. I hope this place shuts down. Also, 3 of their 5 star reviews are written by employees. Gloria and the Spencer’s all work there.

My child was enrolled there from 3 months to 5 years. She started kindergarten in 2022 and has been excelling in her academics, she was even referred for her school's Gifted Program (& they don't usually refer kindergartners!). She learned to write her name, to count in both English AND Spanish, she learned to regulate and navigate all of her big emotions, she learned to communicate with her friends and her teachers when she wasn't feeling her best, and she also learned to read all in her 5 years of going there. This childcare is very well rounded and I love the fact that they put the children first, not only that, they always kept me updated on my child's academic success and all of the events and things that they had going on in the center. 11/10 would recommend! I have two children and two nephews that have each been educated by Dee Spencer and her team since they were three months old. My oldest will be entering Kindergarten next year. At Kindergarten Round Up, the teachers were very impressed with what my son knew and asked where he went to preschool. I told them he has been at the same daycare since he was a baby, but it is preschool from the beginning. They are truly preparing the kids for school every day including the infants. I am a high school teacher and have high expectations for my child care. Regarding the previous bad review, there was a case of lice. The children that were infected had to seek treatment before returning. All parents were informed of the incident and provided information about lice. I don't know if the infected kids were asked to be picked up early or not because my children were not infected. If you are looking for quality child care where the teachers will love your child like they were their very own, I strongly recommend that you take a tour of Delight Ahead.
