Crayon Campus Childcare

Initially toured and put a deposit in for our son to begin in January 2026. However, when dropping off paperwork etc. the center was consistently short-staffed. They hired a new co-director who lacked basic knowledge on protocols of the center and seemed unprepared for the job. We would ask to speak with the center director and were told she would “call us back”, which never happened. We withdrew our deposit and opted for another center- it took two months for Crayon to refund our deposit after countless phone calls and finally speaking with the accountant directly. Would not recommend, they seem frantic, lacking leadership, short-staffed, and disorganized; none of which makes me feel confident in their ability to care for my child. Glad we went with another center!

We love crayon campus! Our 4 year old has been there since he was an infant, and both he and his 2 year old brother love it. The teachers are so patient and kind, and we receive updates all day (photos, videos, everything!). The directors are amazing and so responsive. Our kids are thriving, and we're so grateful to have found such a great place for them to spend their early years!

I can't say enough good things about the Crayon Campus. We were from the irondequoit location and when they closed we came here and we could not be happier. The location itself has an open, airy feel to it as there are wall length windows so you can see all the kids and play grounds and it is very clean. The staff is amazing the Director Kat and her assistant Christian have made this transition so easy and have been delightful to work with. My son is so extremely happy here. He loves all the new kind friends he has made and loves the amazing activities they do. He is extremely excited about being able to interact with a baby kangaroo next week and go on a field trip to the park. Apparently they make amazing meals also as he no longer asks me to make his lunch to bring with him, as he prefers their lunches. I can't say enough good things about this location and we are so happy we chose them to take care of our son.

So happy we found Crayon Campus! Our previous daycare had staffing struggles which ultimately lead to abrupt classroom closures and us scrambling to find a new daycare asap for my almost 18 month old - which is nearly impossible in this area with most centers having waitlists for 1-2 years out. I heard about Crayon Campus from another mom (who had also been displaced by the old daycare earlier in the year) and she suggested I give them a call, and I am SO glad I did! I spoke with the director, Kat, who instantly went out of her way to look at projections and was able to secure a full time spot for my child to start only 2 weeks later! As if that wasn’t miraculous enough, she was then able to find a way for him to start a week earlier when we were unexpectedly cut from our old daycare early. She was so calming and welcoming, I knew we were in the right hands. The Crayon Campus space is clean, vibrant, and fun! The rooms are thoughtfully set up with age appropriate space and toys. I especially like the larger community space centered in the middle of a few of the toddler rooms that will allow for physical activity and exploration in the colder months. Switching to crayon campus was the best decision. I love the teachers but even more importantly my kids love them. They ask to go back on weekends and say we’re going to see “mommy’s friends” each morning. It’s such a relief to have found this facility and this group of staff!
