CHILDTIME LEARNING CENTERS in Kingwood receives mixed reviews. Most parents praise the caring staff, child engagement, and parental visibility technology. However, significant concerns have been raised about facility maintenance, fire safety violations, management favoritism, and unprofessional customer service.
The building is literally falling apart, there’s bugs everywhere (cleaning falls upon very tired and sometimes older staff members instead of a custodial crew like most daycares I’ve been to), and the director severely favors her granddaughter, whether it’s by allowing her to constantly be in the office because she doesn’t want her with the “big kids” (there’s much younger that go with the big kids), or allowing her to walk around with a cup and pacifier (against policy). Policy is constantly broken by the director herself, whether it’s being on her cell phone or leaving the building overflowing with fire hazards like crowded spaces. One fire exit is even blocked with a big cart and stroller. I hear she’s been told before by the fire Marshall to move those items elsewhere, and she did while he was there, but they made their way right back. She’s also extremely rude to employees and fake to tours/parents to maintain her intake/income. I understand it’s your job and your employees are “under you”, but I know of multiple employees looking for a new job already and the center can’t even get many people to interview. My recommendation to the director/center is to be more understanding, don’t always sound annoyed with everything, don’t favor one child over another, follow policy, keep employees happy, and fix the building. There is nothing to force teachers to implement curriculum. I personally feel the children don’t learn anything unless they have a great teacher. When I’m there, I hear teachers yelling at kids. Nothing is done to change this, as I see higher staff members just sitting at the computer staring at the cameras most of the time. Please don’t let your child go here. It’s cheaper than most places but you definitely get what you pay for.
My daughter loves the entire staff! My daughter actually left me to run and give another teacher a hug today before going home. She looks forward to going to day care! I love that I can view what she’s up to on the cameras, and that they feed her nutritious meals & snacks!
Destinee is an amazing manager… she has completely did a 180 with this place. The staff is so kind and tentative. They really go above and beyond to help and with anything you need or questions you may have.
Called to get information for my children, Elizabeth answered and was very rude simply didn’t want to talk and had no interest in helping me. So I simply said okay bye. I guess they didn’t want our business. Really not a way a daycare should act especially over the phone. Horrible!
Fantastic staff that really care about the kids and allow them to be themselves. Great technology for visibility and accountability, and a wonderful place for your child to attend.
