I do not have a child who attends this daycare but I did speak with the director about a potential job opportunity and got to have a look around the facility. I was only there for less than an hour and was very impressed. I am due in December and would without a doubt pick this place for childcare over any other place once my child turns 18 months. These people really do care about your kids and it shows. It really does show. They take pride in creating a safe and loving environment for your kids. The kids looked very happy and the teachers were very sweet. From someone who doesn’t even have a child enrolled, I would 100% recommend them to anybody looking for childcare!!
Mrs. Tammy truly is the best. My children have gone to 1st step for almost 3 years now. My daughter goes weekly and my boys during the summer. All of them love being there. The teachers make it fun and care about the kiddos. I recently found out that my 4 year old (just turned 4) can write her name!!! I was so surprised and amazed with what she has learned here and I am so thankful for this team. The prices have been reasonable and the only way that I have been able to work. Thank you guys🩷
If you're looking for great child care in Kingwood, this is the perfect place! The staff really stands out here. They're experienced and genuinely care about their classrooms. Each class has a warm, cozy atmosphere, and my kids absolutely love being here. We’re big fans of supporting small businesses, and this center is so well-run. Tammy does an amazing job keeping us informed with regular communication. The level of care the staff provides is second to none. Knowing my child is in a safe, nurturing environment gives me complete peace of mind. Highly recommend!
I enrolled my daughter here for the fall break after it was recommended to me by another parent of a classmate of my daughter. She had such a great time and enjoyed her week at 1st step university. She couldn’t wait to go back everyday and even asked to stay longer! My daughter was in the school aged class and said Ms. Harley the teacher made her feel safe. The staff are kind and truly care about the children. The director at the daycare named Tammy is extremely customer service oriented and goes above and beyond to communicate on all levels. She is extremely flexible when it comes to enrolling. I had a lot of questions because I am very picky when it comes to my child’s care. She answered all of my questions without hesitation and is very transparent. I recommend this childcare center to anyone looking to find care and feel at ease while you’re at work. You aren’t just another customer at first step, it’s more like a community.
