I am a parent, but I do not have children who attend this center. However, I frequently walk by it while going to a business in the same complex. Every example I have seen of the employees interacting with the children has left me unimpressed. I have walked past the windows and heard employees YELLING at the children. There are a few in particular who seem to just dislike working there and dislike working with children. If you are considering this preschool because you are familiar with the Montessori method and would like your children to experience that kind of socialization, I would reconsider. You will do far better teaching your child at home with tenderness and affection. At least a few of these employees definitely lack that tenderness and affection. Today I was walking past when a little child, maybe two years old, had let go of the rope that the kids hold onto while walking place to place. The employee snarled at the child, “Grab hold of that rope! You’re not getting snack today.” Do you really want your child to go somewhere where if they make a mistake, they are withheld from having food? That is a completely inappropriate way to teach children. If you don’t absolutely have to send your children to a place like this, I can’t recommend strongly enough that you get a book about the Montessori method and care for your own children at home while implementing some of Maria Montessori’s principles. The heart of those principles is that children are real people who deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. That is not what I see happening when I walk past this place.

Love the philosophy and how far the children will learn and achieve when practicing this method. The owner, Debbie has a heart of gold and wants to help and support each and every child and their family any way possible.

BEST daycare ever! Im a no filter, helicopter mom lol My youngest is 3 and has been here since 4 months old and my 8 year old went here until he graduated to kindergarten(or id still have him here!) my kids go to 2 seperate centers and I refused to take my youngest out because it's hard to find a good center that TRULY cares for the kids and this one does. The owner Debbie goes above and beyond for the kiddos. I even still go to her for advice with my oldest even tho hes no longer there and the teachers she's had in my 10+ years of my kids going here have all been spectacular throughout the years.(im even fb friends with some!) I highly recommend this place you can trust them with your babies. ❤️

My 2.5 year old daughter (2 years 9 months) has been attending Children's Montessori Center on Pines in Spokane Valley full-time since she was 11 months old. Over time, she has progressed from their infant classroom through both the younger and older toddler rooms and is now in the "Voyager" preschool classroom. I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist (currently employed full-time with a school district) with a background in early childhood education. I am cautious and, given previous work experiences, was very methodical when searching for an early learning center for my daughter. I have been consistently impressed with the quality of the care my daughter receives from the infant classroom where I felt my daughter was not just looked after but truly cared for. Her infant teacher moved to the younger toddlers and still says hi to our daughter when she sees her in the hallway between classes. It's very sweet and encouraging that the childcare and early learning providers at CMCI so obviously care about the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of the children in their care. From enrichment, cuddles, and consistent caregiver attention in the Infant Room to the wild dance parties, circle time activities, and arts/sensory projects of the younger and older Toddler Classrooms to the current preschool classroom with her friends she's known since she was a baby, high quality Montessori work and open-ended play options, and teachers/guides who are helping her to develop her sense of independence and curiosity about the world around her I have been incredibly satisfied with this center. They are DCYF licensed and have earned the "Level 3 Early Achievers" title for consistent and high-quality early child education over the years. I love how the teachers in her current preschool room tailor how they play with each student on the playground to how that specific child prefers to be engaged with. I have heard that occasionally a preschool teacher goes out of their way to help to meet the sensory and proprioceptive needs of the 2 and 3 year old in their care whether that's through "heavy work" gross motor play options on the playground, fine motor activities, or encouraging use of their varied outdoor playground toys and structures to help meet those developmentally appropriate needs. From a busy, stressed, full-time working mama - thank you CMCI for taking such wonderful care of my little person. It means the world to me and I would recommend CMCI to any parent looking for quality, individualized, nurturing care for their little ones.

This school was great!!! My son was only here for about 7 months shortly before he started kindergarten. I immediately noticed him trying to spell and wanting to do math with number magnets on the fridge! The curriculum is great and effective! I was very pleased with his teachers also! Thavy, Thalia and Michelle were wonderful! Five stars all around. Thank you all!
