What Parents Say
Children's Harbor-Ghent receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from most parents who praise the caring, attentive staff and smooth transition experiences for their children. However, several recent reviews detail serious concerns about management incompetence, disorganization, inconsistent care standards, and problematic administrative practices.
Personally I would love to give praise to Ms.Jodi, Ms.Janiyah, Ms.Beth, Ms.Stephanie, and every other teacher that works in the toddler class. As a parent, it was a difficult process finding people to care for my child. I was not willing to send my child anywhere if I had even the slightest thought something could happen. Physically, emotionally, or mentally. It took a toll on me with the reality of needing to work, however I was still missing work because my child comes first. I looked into other daycares. She tried those and I could see the sadness and anxiety that was filling inside my child. People kept telling me “let her warm up”, “give her two weeks” , “she needs to get used to it”. No. My child was uncomfortable and I needed to listen to that. I struggled for months trying to find daycare until one day I drove past Ghent Harbor Preschool. I saw kids outside playing on the park and every kid was smiling, playing, teachers were being attentive, and there were enough teachers to balance the amount of kids. I immediately had a great feeling about this place. I went home, researched, and went in the next day. The onboarding process was very smooth, very secure, fast, and informative. My child started the next week and it was an immediate transition. My child didn’t need time to “warm up” here. They personally get to know each child and care for them as their own. With love and care. The teachers here don’t have the mindset of “all kids are the same”, they were receptive to hear what worked best for my child when she’s upset or what she liked to do. Also, they have an app connected to your child and the activities they do all day. The app informs you when your child eats, sleeps, gets a diaper change, and even sends you pictures throughout the day. This eased all my anxiety as a mother. Not to mention the smile and run the comes out of my child when she sees her teachers. My child tells me she’s comfortable there, she’s happy to be there, and it seems to be the most exciting part of her days. Knowing my child is cared for, not in harms way, and genuinely happy, that eases my anxiety as a parent. I am extremely grateful to have found this preschool and the teachers that are within. Ms.Jodi, Ms.Janiyah, Ms.Beth, and Ms.Stephanie, thank you. You all are truly amazing and I am very appreciative for the love and care you give my child everyday.
Hello again if I am writing a review things are terribly bad with the establishment. I wouldn't give this daycare any stars. This place, so called daycare is horrible. The non experienced staff and the fake director Coral. Needs much leadership skills and guidance. I wouldn't take my children here if it was last result. The don't change the 2year Olds, the have minumin media outlet for the children. Allowing one 8inch tablet to be placed high up for 10 children to watch. There's ONLY 1 teacher for 10 toddlers which is absurd. They allow your children to play in water then wait 30mins-1hr. with wet clothes on a total disaster. Also never mind if you have a child or children that are a picky eater NO BRINGING ANY FOOD FOR YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN. This place is dark and dank looking. It really should be closed down. Your children or child is not a priority at all here. Please believe the other reviews. I wish I had and I won't have to right this review. My children are now in a better Academy.
I have to say that I have had a great experience here. My children have been going for 7 years. I love the staff especially Ms. Coral. With any company, you will have ups and downs, but overall I’ve had a great experience and my kids will continue to go here and until they age out.
I am utterly disappointed in my experience with them and how disorganized everything was. My wife and I set up a tour as soon as we were expecting on February 9th at 10:00 with the director at the time and got on the wait list immediately. we would periodically call and finally got the confirmation via phone call on September 05th at 11:01 and were told we would do intake paperwork the week after thanksgiving with our son joining the newborns class at the beginning of 2026. I start calling to eventually find out they lost all our documentation, and it is somehow my fault because we didn't call more often throughout management changes, we had no way to be made aware of so now someone else got my spot because they were put on the list later. I am taking this as a blessing in disguise because if they were this bad on the administration I can never trust them with my infant.
My husband and I are blessed to have found this place for our son. Our anxiety was all over the place trying to find a trust worthy daycare for our first child. Our son is so well taken care of by Ms. Beth and the other care takers in the Waddlers room. Staff is always friendly, never had any problems with anyone. They are a military friendly facility which is also a plus.
