My son has only been going there for a couple of months but he seems to love it so far. He was in another daycare and was not doing very well overall. He is almost 3 and has a small vocabulary which I thought may be normal for him since my daughter was the complete opposite, but since he started at Children's First, he has been talking in sentences which he never could before.
Although I agree that this facility is very clean and is one of the cleanest (not the best) in DeLand, the teachers do not stay due to the rudeness, racism and jealousy of the director (Michelle).Won't see any diversity there!! Also, she doesn't allow the kids to be messy and explore the learning environment like most places. The kids get in trouble if they make a mess...shouldn't kids be kids?? I commend the director on her cleanliness but trust me she is a fake when it comes to caring about the kids and the staff!
Terrific experience(s) for 2 years! Very honest administration and my kids loved their teachers. Thank you for everything you did to help prepare my kids for Kindergarten. You're Truly 5 star group and my kids and I are going to miss you! I always knew my kids were safe when they were in your hands.
The place looks great, is clean and they spend a lot of money on their playground. Unfortunately they can not keep their teachers. There is a lot of turnover. Especially with the little ones. And if you have a child with attachment issues, this adds to the trauma. Their personnel can not handle a toddler being in real distress.
If there was away that I can give this school a negative rating I would. I would highly recommend and suggest that no parent in trust the safety and well being of their child or children to anyone who works at this facility. They are very rude and disrespectful and had the nerve to have a parent go to my child new school to take pictures of him.
