speaking from personal experience, as a former student this school was very biased and unfair towards its students, not just the students but aswell as the teachers were. administrators would instill false information into children’s heads. in the 3 (and a half) years i’ve been here, this school is unprofessional. i was bullied here, and they didn’t do anything about it until i decided to leave the school to a public one. please for your children’s sake, do NOT send them here. find a different jewish school, this environment and atmosphere isn’t a healthy one for a child to grow in. children should learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
YCQ is a fantastic school with caring teachers and a principal . They care about everyone. We left the school for one year because we lived in another state; luckily, the school accepted us back. The school and especially the teachers helped my kids to get back on track. Thank you, YCQ, for your dedication to kids' success.
BE AWARE that the administration behind YCQ, namely the Principal, is not to be trusted! The people running this school do not care because the demand is much higher than the supply and they know that. They will lie to you and use deceitful tactics if they do not want your child. The principal is very rude, sarcastic and lets his ego get the best of him. From the moment of the interview, where the principal could not even have the professional courtesy to focus on the scheduled interview, but rather took a million phone calls and interruptions, to post interview process, it was a nightmare to get our child into the school. After the 1st year our child was told that he cannot return because "he was not a good fit" for their school. They apply a cut and paste approach to all children but not all children are the same. They should not be in the child caregiving business, because they do not understand a child' phycology. Instead they hide behind their " non-biased school psychiatrist" to justify why a child needs certain services or plainly tell you they do not have the ability to cater to the child's needs. The situation involved a child that was normal by all metrics except the child was not as focused when it came to doing their school work, which is also normal (most children are not excited to do school work). A true child care professional knows how to approach each child as an individual and not apply a cut and paste approach across the board! I am glad that my child does not go to YCQ anymore because trusting a child in their care is not a good idea. These people only see $$ and not interested in working with you!
This school is amazing I have been going here since 1st grade and I am now in my last year and I really with not to leave. The principal tras hus hardest and sets up the most life changing trip and me and my friends make more memory then ever before. I really love this school and all the teachers and administrators and is so upset to leave
I can’t speak to the quality of the education, however, the dismissal procedures are extremely unsafe. Parents are double, triple parked, squeezing past other cars making it difficult and unsafe for not only their students, but many other students at schools in the neighborhood. There aren’t staff or administrators trying to facilitate the safe dismissal of students, it’s absolutely disorganized chaos. I’ve seen students hit by cars at this school, so please be aware.
