CYC is a phenomenal place, as our son would be sure to tell you. The curriculum is thoughtfully constructed, the teachers are knowledgable and caring, and our son is excited to attend each day. Students have lots of choice, play based learning, and plenty of outdoor time. We love CYC— we only wish there was a CYC for additional grades!

There are better child care centers in our area than this. They insist on calling this a school, but most of our daycare centers in the area offer preschool and even prekindergarten and do a better job for the money. CYC ropes you in with false advertising about a curriculum standard that they are unable to live up to and then tie you to a contract that is essentially meant to force you to keep paying even if you leave. The contract requires you to keep paying them unless YOU can find another victim to take your child's spot for the remainder. A good program doesn't have to strong arm you. It sells itself. CYC also empties its wait-list into what is essentially a half-day babysitting class where you pay them 7k+ for the year and they teach your kid nothing. Shop around. You can find better and cheaper centers in the area and in nearby Greenbelt that don't have a contract meant to rob you and which actually teach your child (college Park nursery, Greenbelt nursery, Archives daycare, GCDC at NASA). Some of these even include meals for the money!

Barely more than a babysitter. If you do choose this place, pay attention to the line item in the contract that binds you to potentially paying for a full year even if you leave partway through. Shop around, your kid will learn more elsewhere.

One of the most thought out and research based early childhood programs in the entire DCMV area, incredibly caring staff, and very well made lessons and activities.

My daughter attended two summer camps at the CYC and the overall experience was great.
