We couldn't be happier with the care our child receives at The Mills Academy. The staff are incredibly warm and nurturing, always going the extra mile to ensure our child feels safe and loved. The learning activities are engaging and well-suited to their age. We highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a supportive environment for their child.

Initially, my husband and I were drawn to The Mills Academy due to its proximity to our home, the many positive Google reviews, and its affordability. During our tour, we were intrigued by the structure of the program, uniforms for the kids and an orderly setup that seemed impressive at first glance. However, during the tour, the owner, Ray Mills, claimed he was a sitting senator in the state of Georgia and preferred to keep politics separate from his business. We had no prior knowledge of his background and only found that claim suspicious later, after researching and discovering that it was untrue. This was the first red flag. The second red flag came when we dug deeper into the reviews and saw that a former employee had raised concerns about Ray Mills’s character. Despite that, we decided to continue sending our daughter because she seemed to have adjusted well and liked her teacher. We chose to monitor the situation closely. Unfortunately, our concerns escalated after a very disturbing incident. After picking up our daughter one day, we noticed she was extremely uncomfortable and would not allow us near her diaper area, which was highly unusual. Alarmed, we immediately returned to the daycare and asked to review the camera footage to understand if anything inappropriate may have occurred. Ray Mills refused, stating he would not review 9–10 hours of footage, denying us that critical peace of mind. We immediately took our daughter to the doctor, who diagnosed her with a urinary tract infection (UTI), something she has never experienced before. I take great pride in maintaining my daughter’s hygiene and health, so this was deeply upsetting. The doctor confirmed that the infection likely resulted from poor hygienic care. We also began to connect other dots, she would often come home extremely thirsty and with a completely dry diaper, which now raises the concern that children may not be properly hydrated or changed throughout the day. This, if true, is not just neglectful, it’s dangerous. I’m shocked that The Mills Academy is considered a Quality Rated facility, as their care appears to fall short of basic standards. Denying concerned parents access to camera footage and possibly neglecting essential hygiene practices, especially for toddlers, is deeply unethical. This experience has been traumatizing, especially as it was our first time placing our child in daycare. I share this not out of spite or with the intention to attack The Mills Academy, but in hopes that this feedback is taken seriously and inspires necessary change. Every child deserves a safe, clean, and compassionate environment, and every parent deserves transparency and respect.

My son has been going there since September 2024, he’s 3 years old but wasn’t potty trained! His teacher Miss Tina did a wonderful job! In less than two months of being with her he was potty trained going to the bathroom all by himself! Which I’m very pleased about because it was so hard getting him potty trained. Overall I love this school, the staff are welcoming I would definitely recommend this school.

The Mills Academy is a warm, clean and friendly per-school. They are great at communicating with you about your little one because they know how important it is and Mr. Mills (the owner) is always available to address any concerns you may have regarding your child. I highly recommend!

Everything was fine until it wasn’t.. or maybe it never was fine. My son was there from about 7 months to 3yrs.. so most of the time he was there he could not articulate what was going on. My son started coming home telling me that the teacher was pinching him, and some little girl was always hitting him.. he complained almost every day. I NEVER received any communication from his teacher that he was misbehaving or anything (he’s a good kid!) so I was quite confused about why he would be getting pinched. I sent a message to the center regarding this and no one EVER responded. A little time passed and my son started complaining about a little boy named Legend hitting/fighting him and said that the TEACHER TOLD HIM THAT IF HE FIGHT LEGEND BACK, HE WOULD LOSE!! Whaattt??? I knew that had to be said to my son because we don’t talk about fighting and “winning” or “losing” a fight at home. I was LIVID!! I kept my kid home and sent another message letting them know what my son told me and requested to SCHEDULE a meeting. I received a response a day or so later saying that I could come at anytime and speak with anyone….. very unprofessional and unconcerned. I called three times after that to speak with the coordinator or owner and each time I was told they were NOT THERE… which is exactly why I requested a SCHEDULED meeting… if I had driven up there those three time for nothing I would have been even more pissed! I eventually stopped trying and never sent my son back. A lot of the teachers have kids and family members up there and will definitely let their kids run all over yours! I really hate that this happened and I had to move my kid because he learned quite a bit while there, but my kid is not a punching bag! He’s in a better daycare with more structure and a selection process. I couldn’t be happier.
