Capokids The Martial Arts School Preschool

I consider it a tremendous blessing to have found Capokids for my little boy. He is timid and a bit self conscious but his confidence has grown leaps and bounds since attending Capokids preschool. All of the staff are truly devoted to provide a safe and fun environment for all the children. They are gentle and do not push the kids too hard. They all enjoy their jobs and there is a positive atmosphere always. Not only does he have VPK approved curriculum taught each morning but he also has yoga and Capoeira incorporated into their day. It is all about building confidence and working together. When our pediatrician asked where he was attending VPK I told her he was at Capokids and she replied," I'm not supposed to endorse one school or another but, off the record, they are definitely in the top handful of schools I would send my grandkids." Nuff said.

The short: Clean, fun, well managed and an excellent balance of music, culture and exercise. The details: I was anxious about childcare. I was always told my daughter was too quiet and soft and needed to learn to assert herself, so I put her in capo kids to build her confidence. It worked so well. Ms. Nina and her team are incredible at creating a spirit of collaboration and kindness in their school. The kids work together and take care of each other. My daughter who has always kept to herself was suddenly telling me “I made 4 friends today!” She was smiling and showing off her new skills! As a mother it truly filled my heart with joy. Their classroom management in a mixed aged classroom is so strong while still being loving, their pacing keeps kids engaged and they have a lot of fun extras like Kona Ice and Water days. I will undoubtedly send my child back and recommend it to others.

Capokids is the best place I could have asked for to send my kids. They welcomed us in like we were part of the family from day 1. My kids love going there, with all the fun activities and great teachers. My son starts kindergarten this fall, and he will be returning for the afterschool program. Capo is one of his favorite activities, and he has learned so much mentally, physically, and emotionally. We love Capokids and we'll probably never leave!!

I love CapoKids. The children have so much fun in the group and afterschool. They learn Portuguese & sing empowering songs and learn how to play instruments together. Capoeira is an incredible martial art & way of life that empowers and is super fun, working every muscle of the body and sharpening the mind. I was so inspired by the children’s program and what I saw come out of it that I joined the adults academy and go to classes 4x a week. It’s changed our lives forever and bought us community that we needed to be a healthy and happy. In a world where people are not as connected as they once were and being in front of a screen is the norm, this capoeira way of life brings us back to what ‘being people’ really is, and I’m so beyond grateful for this academy and CapoKids.

My son started VPK at CapoKids at the start of the 2019/2020 school year and it was the best decision I could have made for him! He not only got an excellent education but he also got TONS of exercise! He has gone on and continued with the summer camp program. His Capoeira skills are on FIRE! He has learned so much has LOVES all the teachers and assistants. He wants to be a CapoKids teacher one day!! He will be attending after school care for the 2020/2021 school year.
