During my time at this camp, there were serious safety issues that were not handled appropriately. On one occasion, a child got into difficulty in the pool. I was the one who noticed, intervened, and pulled him out. Instead of addressing why the child was not being properly supervised by camp Counsellors, management chose to blame me for their lack of awareness. This incident was essentially brushed aside, and it became apparent that concerns about child safety were not taken seriously. Combined with inadequate staffing, lack of oversight, unprofessional behaviour from certain staff members, and the discovery of drugs belonging to the camp owners Son, on the premises, the environment felt unsafe for both children and employees. The Owners Son, Steven was consistently aggressive and intimidating towards Camp Counsellors and my camp mates and I witnessed him being inappropriate with girls on multiple occasions. When my camp mates and I raised our concerns, we were ignored and not taken seriously. I was caught sleeping when I shouldn’t have been throughout the day I should have been teaching kids I must admit, however, my laziness wasn’t picked up on and I was allowed to get away with it. I also admit I was responsible for bullying a member of my camp because I felt threatened by them. Based on my experience, I strongly urge parents to think carefully before sending their children to this camp. Safety concerns were consistently overlooked, and the overall environment did not meet basic standards for child supervision and well-being.

My 6 yr old daughter loved camp so much last year that she begged to go here every week this year. We signed her up for the extra swim sessions some weeks and extra Horse Masters clinic other weeks. Such a great summer camp!

My daughter has attended Camp Olympia since she was 6 years old and loves it. In the beginning I made a practice of mixing in a few different camps during the summer as I thought she would like the variety. Nope, she only wants to come back to Olympia every week! She loves swimming twice a day and lives for the horses and her riding time. Outside of camp, she doesn't play any team sports like soccer or basketball, however, she thinks that all the sports and game activities are fun, especially the weekly Camp Day. I love the property, the hikes and exposure to nature for the kids, the kindness, patience, and active involvement of their counsellors, staff, and management. Stephen has been really great and accommodating! This is the best camp in MoCo and we're both excited for our third summer here to come!

My daughter has attended Camp Olympia for almost her entire life and I cannot say enough great things about this wonderful place. Steve and Andrea are like family to me, and I attended this camp in my youth as well. So many fun activities (swimming, horseback riding, sports, camp game to name a few), and fantastic, responsible counselors. My daughter would love to be a camp counselor when she's old enough! For what Camp Olympia provides each year, the price is very fair, but it's the people that make all the difference. Everyone is so kind and caring, and I've only had positive experiences in nearly 3 decades coming here. I look forward to their continued success and my daughter can't wait for next summer. Thank you!!!
