This is a very friendly Community shul. This place has a good Child Care Program which I think start at age of 18 months. They also have great events like holiday BBQ which at times can be free the people here are very nice to first comers such as myself when I first came in. You will find a very diverse group of people here from the young , old, teen and from all different places of the world
Warm and friendly, progressive, down-to-earth participatory congregation - with an amazing ECC and IT'S OWN YOGA STUDIO and wellness center! Now that's unique!
We've been members since moving here in 1983. Our children and the entire family enjoy participating in services, programs, and events at this shul. If you want to be part of a friendly, supportive, and very diverse Congregation, do check out Tikvat Israel.
This morning I read an article written by Rabbi Marc Israel in the Forward where he states he no longer supports AIPAC and has aligned himself with J Street. While AIPAC isn’t perfect, J Street is far from pro-Israel. In May of 2021 when Hamas launched a barrage of Rockets into Israel, 9 members of congress held up much needed Iron Dome funding. J Street held political fundraisers for two of these congress members just two weeks after they decided Israel should not have a way to defend its people. J Street continues to endorse candidates that vote to condition aid to Israel, call for BDS, etc. It’s clear Rabbi Marc Israel only cares about his politics and not about Israel. We will no longer be supporting this synagogue.
I was at Tikvat Israel for a concert, not as a congregant. It is beautifully welcoming, with a large entry room. The concert was held in the sanctuary. The acoustics are perfect for music and it is beautifully decorated.
