ongoing issue with unusual and disruptive noise occurring in the apartment unit where I am currently staying—seems like military grade torture sounds at night. The sound is persistent and difficult to describe—it seems to be a low-frequency or mechanical-type noise that causes discomfort and makes it hard to relax or sleep. It doesn’t appear to be typical residential noise and has been ongoing for some time, especially during nighttime and early morning hours. Out of concern for the well-being of those living here, it is worth investigating potential sources such as mechanical systems, HVAC, or even neighboring units that could be inadvertently causing this disturbance.
I lived here for 5 years so here's the full report... Pros: - Pretty wooded property - Amazing location - suburban vibes, but 2 seconds from 270, 495, Old Georgetown, and Rockville Pike - Having a patio in the woods is underrated - so pretty and peaceful - Nicely styled apartments - albeit some cheapo bits (floors, counters, water heater) - [Mostly] good neighbors - lots of families, so very rare rowdiness minus the occasionally noisy kids - Ample free parking - Maintenance is very prompt and polite - #1 PRO - rent increases were 3% or lower each year. Now that I've moved out, I'm realizing how rare and valuable this is. Cons: - Heinously thin walls - you will hear your neighbors. Not a little... a LOT. Think twice if your neighbors have kids, dogs, or sing to church TV every Sunday (trust me), or you work from home. - No hot water. Even the 3-bedroom units have a 15-gallon water heater, AKA you'll run out of hot water after 1 shower in the winter. My roommates and I had to time our showers / dishwasher / laundry and still took many ice cold showers. This is a BIG issue if you have multiple people in the unit, and there's nothing they can do to fix it. - Tiny gym - 2 treadmills means you often have to wait for a machine - Occasionally disorganized management. Management switched from Bozzuto to Vantage and it was a struggle at times. There was a TON of turnover for a while, meaning nothing was communicated and we were hella frustrated trying to re-lease one year. i.e., poor communication on new tenant requirements that required we take multiple days off work to try and sign the lease, not issuing a parking decal so my roommate was towed, and lots of struggles trying to move out due to more disorganization. All in all, now that I've moved out and seen other places, I'm starting to appreciate Timberlawn Crescent more (and even considering moving back). If the thin walls and poor water heater can be mitigated, and if the leasing office smooths out some of the disorganization and staffing turnover, it's a lovely place to live. It turns out renting is an expensive, painful, mismanaged process no matter where you go in the DMV (cough cough living in Arlington is a $3000 nightmare) so - while Timberlawn isn't perfect - it's really not bad by comparison.
We lived at Timberlawn for about 6 years! The neighborhood is so great, close to metro, trails, shopping - everything! The staff at Timberlawn treated us very well - always took care of maintenance issues and any problems we had within a reasonable time! We lived in a 2 bed/2 bath town home and had plenty of space! The only downside was that the appliances and fixtures were a little outdated but they are currently upgrading. Some of the nicest things about it was lots of storage, washer/dryer in unit, free parking, & a quiet neighborhood. We feel lucky to have lived here for so long!
Well I found this apartment online. I had been searching since December 2022 for a nice home and this place never came up only during the week of April 24 did I come upon Timberlawn C. I reached out to Rosey in the leasing office Tuesday the 25th to come out on my day off Thursday the 27th. I had everything I needed to apply ready to go. I got all the way there half hour before my appointment to be told they rented the apartment yesterday. I find that super hard to believe an super UNPROFESSIONAL that a potential resident was called to let them know their apartment was no longer available. Not to mention the 100 something dollars I spent on Uber back an forth. Honestly if I wasn't worth calling then I'm glad I didn't move there it shows the lack of competence the office staff has. Both women in the office had to ask each other if the apartment was reanted.. if you rented it shouldn't some one know for sure, it was only yesterday. And I will call cooperate bc I feel a friend or family member got that unit after I told them I had a voucher..🤥🤥😒🤔
The neighborhood is nice and quiet, the residency is well maintained. Management and staff are friendly and helpful, I get minor maintenance issues resolved in less that 24 hours. I love it here!
