What Parents Say
Building Blocks Learning Center receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its caring, nurturing staff and learning-focused environment. Parents consistently praise the owner Yvonne and director Stephanie, along with individual teachers, for their patience and genuine love for children. One negative review criticizes management policies regarding supplies, activities, and conflict resolution despite acknowledging good teaching staff.
This place and these people were a Godsend! I was struggling as a single parent and going through custody and abuse struggles with the other parent, and BBLC was a safe haven for us. My daughter is now 13 and fondly remembers her time with Mrs. Bon Bon, Mrs. Paula and all the teachers who were so loving! We are still friends with them to this day! Thank you BBLC for all you did and do for families.
You will not find another place like this in Charlotte. These ladies are wonderful. Every teacher is so patient, kind and sweet with the children. My two boys attend and they love coming to daycare. Yvonne the owner is a wonderful woman. Stephanie the director is so sweet. I cannot rave enough about this daycare. It's smaller, but there is a lot of learning, activities, and genuine love for what they do going on at Building Blocks.
Like any mom - my child is my everything! So when selecting a childcare center I researched and toured many many facilities and Building Block Learning Center without a doubt made it to the top of the list. Yvonne the owner is a gem - her true love for caring for children shines through everyday.ALL the teachers and assistants (especially teacher Beth for my lil one) and school manager (Stephanie) are absolutely great. At every turn their #1 priority is to provide quality care and a fun-learning environment for the kids. The facility is quaint, comfy, and filled with plenty of school-house visuals/books/supplies/toys/arts and more to prep your child for later school years.
If you want to drop your kid off for cheap care, this is the place. But if you want simple necessities like sunscreen, bug repellent, medication, or have the ability to easily bring your own meals, keep moving. You also won't get any artwork other than a white piece of paper, colored with a few crayon marks, taped to faded construction paper. The teaching staff is GREAT but the management staff is terrible, and the teachers have no control over their abismal management skills. Also, if you have a dispute, which parents are prone to do, better be super sweet about it since the manager Stephanie can't be called "thick skinned" and can't handle someone being upset. Won't do you any good to talk with her anyway, she won't hear anything you have to say as her mouth never stops moving. Wouldn't take my children back to this place if it were the last center with space available. They are sweet on the surface, but looking back on it, management made paying someone FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS A WEEK to watch my children much more stressful than it should have been.
If you are looking for a safe, loving, and learning-focused daycare - this is the place. Nothing fancy like your primo-multi year wait facilities in the area, but what they don’t have in fancy frills the teachers and staff more than make up for in an environment that fosters creativity, imagination, learning, and love. Highly recommend!
