B'Nai Simcha is a magical place. If you're looking for a preschool that feels like an extension of family and to be part of a loving, joyful, supportive community, this is your spot! Our son had been to a few preschools prior to us discovering B'Nai and hands down, this is the best preschool I've experienced in Pasadena area. It's play-based, nurturing, has a wonderful facility and the director, Carina, is simply awesome. She really cares about every child and about early childhood education. All the teachers are so caring and treat our son with kindness and respect. He loves them. I can't say enough good things about this place. Picking a preschool can be so hard and nerve-wracking, but I really encourage you to check this preschool out :) Oh and they just started a meal program! It's amazing.
We've been at this school for the past 1.5 years through the fire that burned down the original campus. I can attest that it is such a resilient, inclusive and supportive community. The new location has been great for my child and we feel lucky to be a part of B'nai.
Both of my sons went here, I have been a parent at this school for almost 6 years! I can't say enough great things - my children were well cared for by sweet and loving teachers, had lots of time outdoors, deepened their Jewish identity, spirituality, and community, and made lots of deep, long-lasting friendships. I also made so many dear friends from my time here. It's a magical little place and a magical community. Also, when peacock mating season comes around, the peacocks are everywhere! It's very cool to see them strutting around in the backyard, on the roof, and in the parking lot. It just adds to the sweetness and the feeling of belonging to a larger community and environment that one gets out of their time here.
After exploring various preschool options in Pasadena—including another Jewish preschool and a non-Jewish Montessori—we thought we knew what we were looking for. Then, by chance, we learned about Bnei Simcha from a family we met at our local Homestate Tacos. Their daughter, a year older than ours, was attending and they couldn't stop praising it. We scheduled a tour and were immediately drawn to the school's atmosphere. The idea of a Jewish school with native Hebrew speakers was incredibly appealing, and we loved that the children spend most of their time playing outdoors. It felt like the perfect blend of cultural immersion and hands-on learning. We started bringing our daughter before she was two, just to help her get accustomed to the environment and the staff. She took to both right away. Everyone at Bnei Simcha is so welcoming, and it's clear they genuinely care about each child. Our daughter absolutely loves it there. One of our favorite moments each week is the "Shabbat Sing" on Fridays shortly after drop-off. Parents are invited to join, and it's heartwarming to see our little one singing, dancing, and just being so happy. It's become a cherished part of our routine. We highly recommend Bnei Simcha Preschool to anyone looking for a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn Hebrew and embrace their Jewish heritage. Even if you're simply seeking a place where kids can play and develop skills outdoors, this school is a gem.
Our older daughter attended B'nai Simcha for 3 years and our younger daughter is there now-- we have loved the sweet community, the outdoor space and education, and the Jewish education focused on teaching Jewish ethics and values and centering around the Jewish holiday calendar. We have also made lasting friendships with other B'nai families.
