What Parents Say
Pasadena City College Child Development Center receives mostly positive feedback from parents praising the warm, caring staff, thoughtful curriculum, and learning-through-play approach. However, one parent raised serious concerns about outdoor supervision, child safety, staff engagement, and noise levels. The facility is NAEYC accredited and serves both PCC students and the community.
It's been two months since my young toddler has enrolled and I couldn't be happier. This is a very warm and loving facility where the kids learn through lots of fun. The curriculum is designed thoughtfully and adjusted monthly to meet the children where they are, and there is a lot of space and resources to make sure the children are seen and cared for in their own ways. My LO has adjusted well and I also learn through monthly parent education activities (e.g. mindfulness for parents and toddlers). Not to mention the affordability! Overall, we feel really lucky to be part of this community.
Excellent place to work! Highly educated caring staff committed to providing the best care for young children. Serves students of Pcc as well as the community. Believes in best practices for the whole child, low staff turn over and NAEYC accredited. Worked here 18 years and love it!
This place let's the kids out in the cold backyard early morning before 9am,like 830am in the winter time, with kids literally screaming over and over and half don't even make them wear their jackets, I've seen younger ones that can barely walk alone, fall and leave unattended, or slide down a slide they shouldnt be on that young and injure themselves, and one worker just kept telling the kid to get up he's like 2 crying seriously? These workers have no handle on these children that are unruly and to allow a kid to scream over and over just for fun because these workers are lazy is absolutely ridiculous. A robot could take better care of a child then these people. I doubt they are meeting the guidelines for how many caretakers to how many children there are for the legal ratios. I've been to many daycares before and have never heard or witness children act so wild and this is because they are not actually teaching or interacting with the kids. And no one is appreciative of the loud music you play to cover up the yelling and screaming either. Don't bring your kid here, I know I've seen it all and they have no consideration to the neighbors nearby like myself. Take your child to a real daycare not run by the city, I wouldn't bring my kid here for all the money in the world.
My littlest one has been going to CDC for about a year now, and has never encountered any problems or issues. The staff is very resourceful and their techniques are very aspiring. I hope to keep my daughter here as long as we can. She already has learned so MUCH!!!
There's is a caring staff member named Jessica that works there. She provides outstanding service and supports her staff. Your kids are in good hands.
