No establishment is flawless; each has its positive and negative aspects. However, as a parent, experiencing a sense of calm and reassurance knowing your child is in a safe environment provides immense relief. The atmosphere is welcoming, and every staff member exemplifies excellent leadership qualities. You won't hear staff raising their voices at the children. Instead, they consistently engage in fun activities and foster unity among the kids and families. I am always willing to go above and beyond for Sunshine Scholar Academy in New Bern because they have demonstrated that they are not merely a childcare center; they are family.

The biggest relief when walking into Sunshine Scholars is that you don't hear teachers yelling at the kids for crying or playing to loudly. The teachers are very kind and loving towards the children. They really listen to the children and to the parents who have concerns. They are very welcoming and that is a big relief for parents who are putting their children in daycare for the first time. My son who just started loves going there. He walks right in with no fuss. Another huge plus is the updates and photos you receive from the school. I love that and it's a huge relief for me knowing that my child who has separation anxiety is being well cared for. They keep everything cleaned and sanitized.The reviews for this school shows that this is a top rated school in New Bern and that is huge.

I really hate that this center is terrible because as a parent that child has been there, I feel the reviews are not true. Please carry a more professional atmosphere for yourself.

Your worst fear as a parent is discovering that your child's life was endangered and the incident was concealed. Consequently, entrusting your child to a new childcare provider was a devastating experience for me. Enrolling my child at Sunshine Scholars Academy was the best decision I've ever made. I'm at ease knowing they genuinely uphold their mission statement "to strive to be better than they were the day before, last week, or last year." But beyond that, they truly care for each child's well-being as if they were their very own. When you enter the establishment, every staff member, from the teacher down to the chief, warmly acknowledges your presence. They exude a positive and joyful demeanor. Most notably, I've seen a significant improvement in my child's health - they have not experienced any further health complications. Additionally, my child learning and developmental skills have increased. I'm thrilled that this is not merely a daycare, but an environment where the staff actively engage the children, facilitating art projects and helping to develop their reading and writing abilities. When you receive a distressing phone call, your heart sinks as you brace for the worst. But now, I don't have to feel that way anymore. Because, when I look into child's eyes, all I see is joy and safety. You become too realize that this is not just a daycare - it is their second home. Thank you.

My daughter is 2 years old. She is a bilingual child and I was highly concerned about how would she perceive the target language being at the classroom among native speakers. But soon she started speaking English and my joy knew no bounds - all the concerns vanished. As a parent I like that children are involved in different activities during the day: they do a lot of artworks, coloring, reading, dancing, singing songs and spend a lot of time outdoors. This is very important for the child's all-round development while parents are busy at work. My daughter learned a bunch of new things here at Sunshine School: numbers, shapes, parts of the body, basic colors, some letters, days of the week and so on. In addition, children are provided with delicious homemade meals daily. Sunshine School is our first and very positive experience with choosing a childcare center. You are just best of the best!
