What Parents Say
The YWCA Early Learning Program has one detailed positive review praising the director, childcare staff, and welcoming environment. The reviewer noted their children (8 months to 4 years old) quickly warmed up to staff and enjoyed the facility on their first visit. Most other reviews focus on YWCA's gym and fitness facilities rather than the daycare program specifically.
YWCA is awesome! Such a great source for useful info around asheville :) $10 for a day pass
My family has been YWCA members for years and have enjoyed the spacious gym, pool, and many inclusive fitness programs they offer (like prenatal fitness). It's never crowded and they have ALL the machines and weights I (or anyone, really) needs to complete an effective push, pull, leg weight training program. Aside from a few cardio machines that might be out of order, I have found all the machines and free weights to be in good working order. Despite not being "new," these machines are consistently accessible and available! But the real reason I love coming to the YWCA is because it's more than a gym, it's a community! I support their anti-racism mission, educational programming, and affordable day care for working parents. It's been great to see the positive impact they've had on the local community here in the South French Broad and Southside neighborhood! π
I have been a member of the YWCA for 2 years. There is a strong sense of belonging and community. The staff and instructors genuinely care about their members, giving individualized attention to those with special needs. The gym equipment is state of the art and is kept clean and well maintained. The YWCA helps me along my journey of health and wellness. Thank you for empowering me to be my better self.
I joined the YWCA for the pool, but they offer so much more than that! I love the welcoming people and the mission-driven work. I feel so comfortable in the space that I've been able to branch out into new workout routines that I often felt too overwhelmed to try at other gyms. The group fitness offerings are great, too.
So far Empowerment Child Care at the Asheville YWCA has been amazing... Not only is the director really friendly and easy to work with, she seems to really care about my family and helping us in any way she can. Also, the childcare workers we've had the pleasure of meeting have been great. They seem to actually enjoy being there and have been great with all my kids (ages 8 months, 21 months, and 4 years). My 4 year old is really shy and my toddler can be a HANDFUL at best, but the first day they stayed with these ladies, my kids warmed up to them right away. This was their first time at ANY childcare facility so I went in feeling nervous as well. By the time I got their things put away and got them signed in, the interactions I saw between the ladies working there and my kids made me feel confident I was leaving them in good hands. They both had so much fun there and told people all day about the games and toys they played with at daycare... The only concern my daughter expressed when we got in the car headed home was "OH NO!! Mom!!! I forgot to put our toys away before we left! Now those nice ladies might need me to come back to help them clean up tomorrow.." π I was SOO relieved things went so well and my kids can't wait to come back to visit again.
