Ymca Wildwood Branch Summer Fun Preschool

We were so exited to sign up at a YMCA close to us...the place is grungy, no one cleans up after they use the equipment and theres no boundaries with the kiddos...there was a toddler not even 2 in the weight area and on the walking track...this is not a daycare, we are here to workout...this can pose a dangerous situation for anyone, please get out of the way...the front desk staff is stuck and acts like they don't know what they are doing ( loopy ) And it's frustrating to wait on gym equipment when people just sit there on their phone not doing anything. Staff never walks around to secure the area. The only time I have seen someone clean is at 9pm when everyone leaves.Yes, this is supposed to be a family gym, but there's no standards.

Ok gym, usually pretty slow which is nice. Does not allow you to cancel without showing up in person though, which is the reason for 2 stars. I’ve since moved and now do not have a way to cancel without a very inconvenient trip. These are unacceptable business practices and I will be avoiding YMCA in the future.

My 2 year old daughter doesn’t speak English yet and she has been to this YMCA before. Today she was in the kids watch program during their fall event. The staff said it would go until 12:00, but at 11:45 we already got a call saying she “didn’t want to clean up toys,” and they even asked us to sign an incident report. She always cleans up at home and in her preschool, so it was clearly just a misunderstanding because she didn’t understand what they said. Instead of being patient or showing her what to do, the staff treated it like a behavior problem. I understand they have rules, but a little more patience and kindness would go a long way when working with toddlers. We were really disappointed by how this was handled.

This is a great YMCA location. I was visiting from out of town, I am a YMCA member from a different state. The staff at this location did a great job accommodating my needs during this visit and they were extremely courteous. The facility has everything you need for a great workout, I highly recommend this YMCA.

Normally I like this location the staff is typically nice. Tonight I observed a women working at the front desk greet 2 women by simply saying "Ladies we're closed," rather than saying anything polite. Then as the ladies were politely leaving she asked in a sort of acusatory fashion "How did you get in here the doors were locked?" This is a very odd way to treat people. I hope that at the very least this review will prompt a conversation with the staff about kindness and using manners when speaking to people. I have been a members for years and witnessing this was really uncomfortable, I cant begin to imagine how uncomfortable the two ladies were after this interaction.
