Great basketball gym if you never want to play basketball. Good luck working around their schedule if you work 9-5. Even better - they removed the Wednesday time slot leaving even less availability.
Horrible leadership at staff extremely rude play games like keyboard warriors don’t communicate in a respectful manner. I realize I’m one of the few Bad reviews. The person “Janet” at the front desk has to be the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in customer service in my life, and that says something having worked in aquatics and customer service for decades. I’m sure the strategy of having five star reviews is because they solicit them. I was a member there for many years and I’ve only seen the place. Go way way way downhill!
Last Saturday, I brought my 3 year old son into the women’s locker room to use the bathroom. There’s a vanity area where women get ready, however there was an older man just sitting there, watching the women get ready, completely naked. I went over to the front desk and told them there was a naked man in the women’s locker room just sitting there, watching everyone and he responded that they are legally not allowed to remove him. Please educate me because this doesn’t seem right. I told them I usually let my 11 year old daughter go to the bathroom herself and I don’t feel like it’s safe and yet, YMCA did nothing. I was at the YMCA because my daughter had a game. After her game, I checked the women’s locker room (about an hour after I took my son to the bathroom) and the naked man was still there, sitting there and putting lotion on his body. This is not okay. Please be careful everyone, especially those with children.
Outstanding team! Very helpful. Wonderful staff. Clean, professional, friendly, terrific management, this YMCA is perfect with a great location next to the mall at Stonestown. My family loved it. My daughter was so happy.
Below I left what I originally wrote when I gave this gym 5 stars. But I'm down to 1 star. The person who runs the aquatic center was rude and dismissive to me today. They have a sauna was always too cold (maxing it at 160). Now, they make everyone get out of the sauna after 13 minutes and stay out of the sauna for 2 minutes.There is exactly 1 sauna in the entire world with this policy. It would take me hours to get any health benefits at this sauna now. When I discussed my concerns and asked if they have any study, expert opinion or data that shows this is a healthful policy I was told they didn't and I should just use another gym. Ok, I will. Original review: The only thing worse than this gym is all the other gyms nearby. It is pretty cramped. They could use to double their square footage based on the amount of people and equipment. Good size pool. Just barely hot enough sauna. It has egym equipment which I REALLY love. Almost everyone does the recommended circuit on the equipment so I can get a very consistent workout without waiting for equipment to free up.
